Ashique Thahir MD Of Team Thai: A Car Lover From Kerala!

Kerala-born entrepreneur Ashiq Tahir loves cars. He is the owner and Executive Director of Thai Group, which operates in FMCG, food, transport, and plantation.

Ashiq is the main person behind the world-famous travel and car show "Car and Country," which airs on Amazon Prime. He is also a co-producer and co-host of the show.

Ashiq was born in Kerala's Wayanad district on September 7, 1978. He was born to PC Thahir, the founder and chairman of Thai Group, and Sakkeena Thahir, a Thai Group director.

Ashiq finished high school at St. Joseph High School in Sultan Bathery, Wayanad. To get his higher secondary education, he went to Bhavans Vidya Mandir, Kochi.

Later, after getting his engineering degree from Manipal, Ashique went to University of Central England, Birmingham to get a postgraduate degree in marketing.

Ashiq helps grow his father's business, Team Thai. He designed their Kozhikode, Kerala office building since he likes architecture.

In 2016, Ashiq and his car-loving friend Deepak Narendran talked about starting a travel and car-related TV show called "Car and Country." The show is known all over the world.

He opened "The Best Garage" in Kerala and collected Ferrari 458, Porsche 991.1 GT3, Porsche 997 911, Lamborghini Huracan, and Lamborghini Urus.

Ashiq surprised everyone in 2022 by hanging a 2005 Porsche Carrera 911 on the Team Thai office wall in Kozhikode. Mounting the two-tonne car on the wall took five months.
