Sudha Murty is a writer, educator, and philanthropist from India. Moreover, Sudha is the Chairman of the non-profit Infosys Foundation.

Born on 19 August 1951 in Shiggaon, Haveri, Karnataka. She has 71 years of age. Sudha is of Brahmin Deshastha family.

Her father, R. H. Kulkarni, was a surgeon, while her mother, Vimala Kulkarni, was a teacher. Sudha has a brother and two sisters as siblings.

Married to Infosys co-founder N. R. Narayana Murthy on February 10, 1978 in Bangalore. At the time, Narayana worked as the General Manager of Patni Computers in Bombay.

The children of Sudha and Narayana are Rohan and Akshata. Rohan is the chief technology officer for the digital transformation startup Soroco.

Akshata, a director at Catamaran Ventures UK, is married to the current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak.

Sudha studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at B.V.B. College of Engineering & Technology. She then earned her M.Eng. in Computer Science at the Indian Institute of Science.

History began Sudha's career. She wrote a postcard to TATA Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO) Chairman complaining about the "men only" gender inequality.

In her teaching career, Sudha served as a Visiting Professor at Bangalore University's PG Center. Also, she used to attend Christ University.

Her social work earned her the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award, in 2006. In 2023, Sudha received India's third-highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan.
