Niharika NM is an Indian digital content creator based in Los Angeles, United States. Best known for her hilarious content, several videos of Nikharika have gone viral on the internet.

The content creator has a massive social media fan following with a whopping 3.3 million followers on Instagram and 24.5 lakh subscribers on YouTube. Niharika was selected by YouTube as one of the global ambassadors for the Creators for Change Program.

A recipient of the Youth Icon-Entertainer of the Year Award at the Cannes World Influencers And Bloggers Awards in 2022, Niharika NM has also won the Cosmopolitan Entertainer of the Year award in 2020.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine in December 2022, Niharika said that she has been single for a long time. On a lighter note, the content creator added that she is ready to get married if any beautiful, successful young man is out there.

In 2015, Niharika joined B.M.S. College of Engineering in Bangalore. She completed the 4-year Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science in 2019. In the same year, Niharika enrolled for MBA at Chapman University in Orange, California in the United States, and passed out in 2021.

Niharika NM Profession

Since the age of 16, Niharika started creating content on YouTube, just as a pastime. In 2016, during her second year of engineering, YouTube was becoming popular in Western countries. However, in India, it was yet to gain momentum.

Initially, she created her first few sketches just for her family and friends to see and not for the outside world. It was Niharika’s best friend who first made a YouTube channel for her and uploaded her sketches. However, Niharika later got to know from the same person that her YouTube channel had garnered 5,000 subscribers. 

From that point onwards, Niharika started to take content creation seriously. Eventually, some of her YouTibe videos also went viral. In 2018, one of her videos titled ‘Types of students during an exam’ turned out to be a massive hit.  

After completing her engineering studies, in 2019, Niharika moved to the United States to pursue her MBA. It was due to parental pressure that she joined the course. After going to the US, Niharika stopped creating content for a while.

Later, in 2020, during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, she uploaded a video on TikTok. Viraj Sheth, the co-founder of Monk-E, encouraged her to create content on TikTok. Soon, TikTok was banned in India, and following that Niharika uploaded a couple of reels on Instagram. One of them went viral, netizens started sharing it and Niharika never had to look back after that.

In her content creation journey, Niharika got a significant break with the Instagram reel ‘one-way street It Is’. In just 10 days, the video garnered a whopping ten million views. Later, she went on to create several viral Instagram reels such as ‘violence loves me’ based on the dialogue from the film KGF 2 that clocked 3.5 million views in less than 24 hours.

Leading South Indian actress Khusbhu also once shared her reel. The Instagram reel Niharika did base on the quote ‘If you love someone, let them go’ was commented on by actresses Samyukta Hornad and Kavya Venkatesh.

Niharika has partnered with top OTT platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime India. She has also collaborated with leading brands such as BYJUs and OPPO. Niharika’s major achievements include bagging 11 awards and titles in just a span of two years. She was also featured in the finale of ‘Koffee With Karan Season 7’.

• As a child, Niharika went through a lot of body shaming. Later, she herself started cracking jokes about her body.

• Telugu actor Mahesh Babu used to be Niharika’s childhood superstar. When she was 5 five years old, Niharika used to hug the television declaring that Mahesh is the love of her life. Later, after becoming a content creator, she got a chance to create an Instagram reel along with Mahesh Babu. 

• During her early days, Niharika used to be a geeky student. She wanted to become an ethical hacker, wear power suits, and have a corporate life. However, a year after joining the engineering course, Niharika realized that she would be a useless engineer.

• She is greatly inspired by comedians Jim Carrey, Rowan Atkinson, Brahmanandam, and Vennela Kishore.

• After completing her MBA, Niharika got a job offer with Google, the search engine giant. However, she turned down the offer to pursue a career in content creation. Niharika convinced her parents by showing them how much salary she would get at Google and the amount she can make via social media content creation.

• If given a chance, she would like to be cast opposite Indian actors Ranveer Singh, Kartik Aryan, and Shah Rukh Khan. Niharika humorously remarked that if Pushpa 3 is ever made, she would definitely want to be cast alongside Allu Arjun.

• When Niharika is at home in Bengaluru, she spends time with her two puppies, a Maltese, and a shih tzu. She also prefers comfort food such as curd rice, rasam rice, or sambar.

• Since social media does not offer a stable income in the initial days, Niharika’s advice to budding content creators is to have more than one revenue stream till the time they are able to build a sustainable brand of their own.
