Since childhood days, Karan Deol has been friends with Drisha Acharya, the great-granddaughter of the Late Bimal Roy, the reputed Hindi film director of the 50s. Though the couple has been in a relationship for the last 6 years, they have remained tight-lipped about their love life.

On ‘Humans of Bombay’s Instagram page, Karan once shared the painful experience of how he was bullied during his school days. According to the actor, back then he was studying in 1st grade and a sports competition was going on.

All of a sudden, some senior boys surrounded him, lifted him up, and smacked him in front of everyone. They also asked the little boy Karan whether he is sure that he is Sunny Deol’s son. Those boys went on to say that he can’t even fight back and according to Karan, it was an embarrassing incident.

The actor also revealed the poor treatment he had to face from one of his teachers. During his school days, he didn’t do well in an assignment. A teacher, suddenly came to him and said that he is only capable of writing his dad’s cheques and nothing else.

During Karan’s childhood days, his father Sunny had a huge collection of movie DVDs. The little boy Karan was attracted to filmmaking after watching the DVD of Star Wars. When he grew up, he started watching movies from theatres alone.

In 2013, Karan forayed into movies as an assistant director to Sangeeth Sivan, the renowned South Indian director. It was ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’, a film produced by Dharmendra with Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol in the lead roles.

Six years later, Karan debuted as an actor in ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’, the first film directed by his father Sunny Deol. In the movie, Karan played the role of the hero, and he was cast opposite Sahher Bambba. However, the film was not a commercial success.

Karan’s next appearance as an actor was in the 2021 Hindi film Velle, directed by Deven Munajl. The other actors in the movie included Abhay Deol and Mouni Roy. • In an interview, Karan once recollected a childhood experience where has was caught red-handed by his dad for bunking classes at school. When he went back home, Karan saw his dad standing in the corridor. While narrating that incident, Karan said that it was not a nice experience and that he was thoroughly told off.

• Karan’s mother Pooja Deol’s actual name is Lynda. She prefers to stay away from the limelight.

• When Karan’s first movie ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Pass’ flopped, it was his uncle Bobby who motivated him. Bobby cited his own example and said that though his first movie was a big hit, he didn’t get any work for three years. However, now he has been relaunched in the industry and is going solid.

• Karan said that his mom was the only person who stood up for him when he was being picked on at school.
