Aishwarya Rajesh is an Indian actress who works majorly in Tamil films. She has also acted in Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films. Aishwarya began her career in television by anchoring the comedy show Asatha Povathu Yaaru? Subsequently, she emerged as the winner of the reality show ‘Maanada Mayilada’.

During her 11th and 12th grade days, Aishwarya was in a relationship with a guy. However, he cheated on the actress and left. Later, when she was in college, Aishwarya met another person and fell in love with him.

Though that relationship lasted for about 5 to 6 years, it didn’t work out as differences of opinion developed between the two. Aishwarya says that since she works in the film industry, problems were bound to occur. According to the actress, her third relationship will be a permanent one and that will last forever.

Aishwarya Rajesh did her schooling at Shrine Vailankanni, Chennai, Sree Vidyanikethan International School, Tirupati, and Holy Angels Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Chennai. Later, she joined Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai, and graduated with a B.Com degree.

Aishwarya once revealed that she has faced sexual harassment in the film industry. The actress also opened up about the discrimination she had to face due to her dark complexion. Aishwarya was once told by a director that she is not fit to be cast in the role of a heroine. He even told her that she can be cast only for roles such as heroine’s friend and it is pointless to waste time looking for heroine roles.

Aishwarya also disclosed that though everyone appreciated her for the role in ‘Kaaka Muttai’, no other actor except Dhanush, Vijay Sethupathi, and Sivakarthikeyan came forward to work with her.

Aishwarya made her acting debut in 2011 with the Veerapandian-directed film  ‘Avargalum Ivargalum’. The following year, Aishwarya acted in ‘Attakathi’, a film directed by Pa. Ranjith and she portrayed the role of Amudha.

The actress rose to fame with an incredible performance in the film. In 2014, ‘Kaaka Muttai’ was released and Aishwarya received the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress. The other Tamil movies for which Aishwarya received rave reviews include Vada Chennai, her solo film Kanaa, World Famous Lover, and Ka Pae Ranasingam.

Aishwarya made her entry into Malayalam with the 2017 film ‘Jomonte Suvisheshangal’ and she was cast opposite Dulquer Salmaan in the movie. In the same year, she debuted in Hindi with the film ‘Daddy’ directed by Ashim Ahluwalia. ‘Kousalya Krishnamurthy’, the remake of the Tamil film ‘Kanaa’ was Aishwarya’s debut Telugu movie.

Apart from films, Aishwarya has also appeared in ‘Bodhai Kodhai’, a music video directed by acclaimed director Gautham Vasudev Menon. She has also acted in the 2022 web series  ‘Suzhal: The Vortex’ and worked as a dubbing artist for the Tamil version of the film ‘The Lion King’.
