Kailash Kher is an Indian music composer and singer. He made his debut in Bollywood by singing the song “ “Rabba Ishq Na Hove” in the 2003 film Andaaz. Later, he rose to fame with the song “Allah ke Bande” from the movie Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II.
Kailash’s singing style is influenced by Indian folk music and Sufi music and he has also released many music albums. He is also a recipient of the Padma Shri Award in 2017.
Kailash has also delivered musical performances in venues of international repute such as GlobalFest at New York’s Webster Hall, Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.) and Stern Grove Festival in San Francisco.

Kailash Kher Family
Kailash Kher was born on 7 July 1973 in a Kashmiri family. His father Mehar Singh Kher was a traditional folk singer and his mother’s name is Chandrakanta Kher. Kailash also has a sister Nutan, who is married.

Relationships
Kailash Kher is married to Sheetal, who hails from Mumbai. One Kailash was asked in an interview about how he happened to meet Sheetal. According to the singer, it was an arranged set-up, and meeting a life partner is all about destiny.
Speaking about her marriage with Kailash, Sheetal said that she never thought that she would marry the singer. However, on meeting Kailash, it was his simplicity that attracted her. The couple got married on February 14th, 2009, and have a son, Kabir.

Kailash is a graduate of Delhi University and he completed the course via a correspondence course.
Controversies
Natasha Hemrajani, a female photojournalist once alleged that Kailash sexually harassed her back in 2006. According to her, she visited the singer’s house for an interview along with another female colleague. Kailash sat in between both of them and put his hands on their thighs.
In another instance, singer Sona Mahapatra came out in public accusing Kailash of sexual harassment. She took to Twitter that she met up with the singer at a cafe for discussing an upcoming concert.
According to Sona, Kailash misbehaved with her by placing his hands on her thighs. He also told her that she is very beautiful and felt so good that a musician got her.

In 2003, Kailash sang his first song in Bollywood, “Rabba Ishq Na Hove” from the film Andaaz. However, he became quite popular after singing the song “Allah ke Bande” from the film “Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II”.
The other famous Hindi film songs from Kher are “Jay Jay Kara” and “Jal rahi hai chita” from Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, “O Sikander” from Corporate, and “Ya Rabba” from the movie Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love. Apart from Hindi, Kailash has sung songs in 20 other languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Oriya, and Bengali.
Kailash has composed music scores for several Hindi films such as Dasvidaniya, Chandni Chowk To China, and Desi Kattey. He has also donned the role of a lyricist for movies including Kaal, Chandni Chowk To China, Traffic Signal, and Dasvidaniya.
In 2004, Kailash founded the band ‘Kailasa’ along with musician brothers Paresh Kamath and Naresh Kamath. Some of the famous music albums from the band are Kailasa, Jhoomo Re, and Chandan Mein. On television, Kailash made appearances in several shows such as Saregamapa Li’l Champs, Mission Ustaad, and Indian Idol 4.
Kailash has been a recipient of two Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer. He also received the Star Screen Awards, GiMA Award, Indian Television Academy Awards and
Indian Telly Awards.

- Once Kailash revealed that when he came to Mumbai, he faced a lot of rejections. He was so dejected that he even tried to end his life.
- The singer says that earlier he used to feel a bit awkward for not studying properly. However, after being invited to prestigious institutions such as IIM and IIT, he realized that a formal degree doesn’t matter.
