Jasprit Bumrah is an Indian international cricket player who has played for the country in all formats of cricket. A right-arm fast bowler, the cricketer plays for Gujarat in domestic cricket and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.

Jasprit Bumrah Family
Jasprit Bumrah was born on 6 December 1993 and hails from a Sikh Punjabi family. The cricketer’s family settled in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Bumrah’s father Jasbir Singh passed away when he was 5 years old.
After his father’s demise, Bumrah’s mother Daljit became the sole breadwinner of their family and she was working as the principal of the pre-primary section at Nirman High School in Ahmedabad. The cricketer also has a sister, Juhika.

Bumrah met Sanjana Ganesan, a sports presenter for the first time during an interview at the 2013-2014 IPL season. Apart from being a regular face on television during the IPL matches, Sanjana was also Miss India 2014 finalist and a contestant in Splitsvilla 7, a television dating reality show.
Soon after the interview, Bumrah and Sanjana became friends, and their friendship later blossomed into love. After dating for two years, the couple finally got married in March 2021.

Bumrah did his schooling at Nirman High School in Ahmedabad. Reportedly, he didn’t pursue his college education.
Controversies
In February 2023, Indian cricket team selector Chetan Sharma made some shocking revelations which were exposed by a sting operation conducted by a television channel.
According to Sharma, a difference of opinion developed between him and the team management regarding Bumrah’s return from a stress fracture for the Indian team’s T20I series against Australia.
The selector went on to say that though Bumrah’s pain aggravated before the second T20I against Australia, he concealed that aspect to retain his place in the T20 World Cup squad.

In October 2013, Bumrah made his first-class debut for Gujarat against Vidarbha. It was followed by the 2012–13 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in which the cricketer played his first T20 match against Maharashtra.
With a terrific performance of bagging 3 wickets by conceding just 14 runs, Bumrah was declared the man of the match in the game. Later, in the 2015-16 domestic season, he emerged as Gujarat’s second-highest wicket-taker in the Ranji Trophy.
At the age of 19, Bumrah played his maiden IPL match for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
On 23 January 2016, Bumrah played his first ODI for India against Australia and it was followed by the cricketer’s T20I debut on 26 January 2016. In the T20I series against the West Indies in August 2016, Bumrah became the bowler with the most wickets (28) in Twenty20 Internationals in a calendar year, breaking Dirk Nannes’ record.
On 6 January 2018, Bumrah made his international test cricket debut in a match against South Africa. In the 3rd Test Match held at Johannesburg, the cricketer took his maiden five-wicket haul in Tests, with incredible figures of 5/54 from 18.5 overs.
In April 2019, Bumra was selected for India’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. He became the leading wicket-taker for India in the tournament and the fifth-highest overall, with eighteen dismissals in nine matches.
Bumrah later met with a back injury and was last seen playing for India against Australia in September 2022. As per the latest reports, the cricketer is making a quick recovery and might be back to the Indian team soon.
