Sharman Joshi is an Indian film actor and television presenter who works primarily in Hindi movies. He started his career as a theatre actor and later produced and directed stage plays in various languages such as English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi.
Sharman made his debut in films with the 1999 Hindi movie ‘Godmother’. It was followed by appearances in several hit films such as Rang De Basanti, Golmaal, Dhol, and 3 Idiots. He also won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 11th IIFA Awards and has also been nominated for the Filmfare Awards twice.

Sharman Joshi Family
Sharman Joshi Born on 28th April 1979 in a Gujarati Brahmin family, Sharman hails from an acting background. His father Arvind Joshi was a renowned thespian and has also acted in films such as Sholay, Love Marriage, and Naam.
Sharman’s mother’s name is Usha Joshi and he has a sister Manasi Joshi Roy who is also a television actress. Manasi is married to Rohit Roy, a television and film actor.
Relationships
Sharman met Prerana Chopra, daughter of yesteryear Bollywood actor Prem Chopra during his college days. In the first meeting itself, an instant connection developed between the two, and soon they became very good friends.
The couple had such strong feelings for each other that they didn’t feel the need to propose to each other. After dating each other for a long time, the couple finally got married on 15 June 2000. Sharman and Prerana Chopra have three children, Khyana Joshi, and twins Vaaryan and Vihaan Joshi.
Education
Sharman completed his schooling at Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School. Later he enrolled at Narsee Monjee College where he studied commerce. Later, he did his MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi.
Controversies
Sharman acted in the first part of Golmaal, directed by Rohit Shetty. However, he was replaced by Shreyas Talpade in the second part ‘Golmaal Returns’. During that time, rumors were rife that Sharman is not on talking terms with Rohith.
However, in an interview, the actor revealed the actual reason why he was missing in the second part of the Golmaal franchise. According to Sharman, his management team was not communicating very well and money was definitely one of the reasons.
He added that his managers had set a price that the producers were not comfortable with. Sharman also said that he pleaded with Rohith to include him in the next project.

After his stint in theatre, Sharman made his debut in the 1999 art film, Godmother. He portrayed the role of Karsan in the movie. It was followed by ‘Style’ directed by N. Chandra in 2001 and its sequel ‘Xcuse Me’ in 2003. In both movies, he acted along with Sahil Khan. Later, Sharman went on to act in several hit films such as Shaadi No. 1, Rang De Basanti, Life in a Metro, Dhol, and Raqeeb.
The other notable performances from Sharman include Shyam in Hello and Raju Rastogi in 3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Later, he played the lead role in the films Ferrari ki Sawaari, Kaashi in Search of Ganga, and 3 Storeys.
Sharman has acted in several web series such as Baarish, Pawan & Pooja, and Kafas. He also hosted the gameshow ‘PokerFace: Dil Sachcha Chehra Jhootha’ and sung a song in the film 3 Idiots.
After a long gap of 20 years, Sharman will now be acting in a film along with Sahil Khan. Directed by Sam Khan, the film will be shot in Abu Dhabi.
