Controversies

In July 2021, in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, Akhil lashed out at the administration by stating that the government is no doubt a bigger threat than the Coronavirus. He severely criticized the authorities for imposing strict restrictions even after the pandemic has subsided.

Towards the end, Akhil also mentioned that unless the poor raise their voice, they will die of poverty.

In the Bigg Boss house, Akhil once compared one of his co-contestants with Madhu, a tribal who became a victim of mob killing for stealing food.
