Andhra Pradesh, popularly known as the Rice Bowl of India, is in the southeastern coastal region of India. Chirala Beach (Vodarevu Beach)

Chirala Beach is also known as the Vodarevu Beach which is situated in the Chirala city of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh. Chirala is a place that is also named Chenna Bombay or Mini Bombay because this place is home to the textile industry.

The handloom industry and the beaches in Chirala City (“Also known as Ksheerapuri”) are world-renowned. You must explore this beach and the village during your trip to Prakasam.

Tripuranthakam

A pretty small village located in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh named Tripuranthakam. It is an ancient temple that was constructed by Kakatiyas. There is a story behind this temple and the locals believe that Lord Shiva has killed the demons at this place along with Bala Tripura Sundari.

On top of a hill is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, which is regarded as the Srisailam temple’s Eastern entrance. Sri Bala Tripura Sundari, the goddess temple, is down the hill.

Pakala Beach is located in the Singaraya Konda Mandal, Pakala hamlet in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the cleanest beaches in the Prakasam district with beautiful lush greenery all around. Near Pallepalem, it is only one foot above sea level; on the west side of the settlement, it is about 25 feet (7.6 meters) above sea level. Gundlakamma Reservoir

Gundlakamma Reservoir is a beautiful season waterway that arises in the Nallamala Hills in the Prakasam district through the east-central part of Andhra Pradesh. Several mountain streams join it as it flows down the densely forested hills in a series of curves and tight bends.

It flows northeast and enters the plains near Cumbum after passing through the town of the same name. It is considered one of the largest reservoirs that originate from the Nallamal Hills and is a must-visit place. This is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Kothapatnam Beach

Kothapatnam is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. This is a picturesque beach with long stretches of sand, crystal clear blue water of the beach, and a gentle breeze that will make you fall in love with this place. Bhairavakona

Bhairavakona is one of the religious places in the heart of Nallamal Hills in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district. The temples of Sri Trimukha Durgamba Mahadevi and Sri Barguleshwari Swamy, as well as the presence of Bala Bhairava Swamy who watches over the area, are the origin of the name Bhairavakona. This place is famous for the waterfall from a height of 200 meters and the temples carved into the hill at this place.

Rallapad Reservoir

Rallapad Reservoir is located across the Manneru river near Rallapad village in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. The storage capacity of this reservoir is around 31 million cubic meters. This reservoir exists in Andhra Pradesh around the year 1951 to 1958. You can visit this reservoir between 7 in the morning to 6 in the evening.

Ramayapatnam Beach

The Indian state of Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district includes Ramayapatnam Beach, which is situated on the Bay of Bengal coast. The state tourism organization, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), constructed this beach for the purpose of promoting tourism in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh.

Mopadu Reservoir

Mopadu Reservoir was constructed around the Manneru river from 1906 to 1921 which the sole motive of providing irrigation facilities to the farmers in the Prakasam district. The total storage capacity of this reservoir is around 2200 mcf. The government of that state modernizes this place every few years for advancement. You should visit this place in the Prakasam district.

Malakonda

Malakonda is a small village in Valetivari Palem in the Prakasam district of the Indian state i.e., of Andhra Pradesh. There is a famous temple in this village that was built for Hindu Narasimha i.e., one of the avatars of Vishnu.

The temple is named Sri Malyadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Vari Devasthanam. There are a lot of other tourist places in this particular village. This place is crowded throughout the year with a lot of Hindu devotees and tourists because of the religious element.

  • By Air: Prakasam district doesn’t have an airport of its own. The nearest airport for reaching Prakasam is the Vijayawada International Airport which is approximately 230 km far away. This is an international airport that connects almost every Indian state and all major countries of the world. After reaching the airport, you can take a bus or book a cab for reaching your desired location in Prakasam.
  • By Train: Prakasam doesn’t have its own railway station. So, one has to reach the closest railway station i.e., Ongole Railway Station which is at a distance of 86 km from Prakasam. It is connected with various states of India on regular basis. One can book a cab or take a bus from the railway station to reach their desired location.
  • By Road: Andhra Pradesh State Transportation Road Corporation (APSTRC) takes care of the road connectivity of Prakasam with various neighboring cities and major states of the country for smooth and comfortable travel. A lot of public and private bus service operators are available for providing comfortable road trips to the Prakasam district.
