Chandoo Mondeti is an Indian director, story writer, and dialogue writer who works in the Telugu film industry. He made his directorial debut in 2014 with the movie ‘Karthikeya’. Later, he went on to direct several hit films such as Premam, Bloody Mary, and Karthikeya 2.
Chandoo also penned the story of several films such as Karthikeya, Premam, and Savyasachi and the dialogues of Surya vs. Surya and Kirrak Party. Chandoo was nominated for the Best Director award at the Filmfare Awards South and South Indian International Movie Awards.

Chandoo Mondeti Family
Though the director was born in the Vemuluru village, located in Kovvur mandal of West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, he grew up in Chennai. There are no details available about Chandoo’s parents in public sources.

Director Parashuram is a good friend of Chandoo. Once, Chandoo had been to his house and there he happened to meet Sujatha. During that time Sujatha had come for a job and was staying with Parashuram.
When they met for the first time, Chandoo saw Sujatha speaking to everyone and was instantly attracted to her. Later, Chandoo started going to Parashuram’s house frequently and gradually he fell in love with Sujatha. With the turn of events, the couple tied the knot with the consent of their parents.
Sujatha works as a lecturer at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. Chandoo and Sujatha have two children.

During the success meeting of ‘Karthikeya 2’ in 2022, Anupama Parameswaran, the lead actress in the movie apologized to its director Chandoo. During the event, the actress recalled an incident that happened during the filming of the movie.
According to Anupama, she was suffering from backache when its shoot was taking place in Gujarat. However, somehow she managed to finish the schedule. On one of those days, the shoot was delayed due to technical issues. Anupama was going through severe pain and out of frustration, the actress said that she regrets working with Chandoo. While speaking at the success meet, Anupama said that she should not have said that and apologized to Chandoo publicly.

Since his early days, Chandoo has been a movie buff. He was also a huge fan of Telugu superstar Nagarjuna. During his engineering college days, Chandoo used to watch movies and engage in lengthy discussions during weekends. Later, he ventured into the world of cinema and started his career as an assistant director.
In 2014, Chandoo became an independent director with ‘Karthikeya’, a mystery thriller film. He was also the story writer of the film. Nikhil Siddhartha and Swathi Reddy played the lead roles in Karthikeya and the film, made with a budget of ₹4–6 crore managed to collect Rs.20 crore at the box office.
Chandoo’s next attempt in direction was ‘Premam’, a remake of the hit Malayalam movie of the same name. The film turned out to be a commercial success. However, ‘Savyasachi’, the 2018 film directed by Chandoo failed to create an impact at the box office.
Chandoo later went on to direct back-to-back hits such as ‘Bloody Mary’ and ‘Karthikeya 2’, the sequel to Karthikeya. He also turned dialogue writer for the films Surya vs. Surya and Kirrak Party.
The upcoming projects from the director include a film produced by Geetha Arts, with actors Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. The discussions are also going on with Surya, the Tamil hero for a fantasy film based on Vedas. The other film is ‘Karthikeya 3’, the third movie of the franchise.
