Dipika Kakar, now known as Faiza Ibrahim is an Indian television actress who works primarily in Hindi serials. An air hostess-turned-actress, Dipika made her acting debut in 2010 with the television series ‘Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi’.

However, she rose to fame after portraying the central character of Simar in the series ‘Sasural Simar Ka’. Dipika has a massive fan following on social media platforms with 3.7 million followers on Instagram and 37 lakh subscribers on her Youtube channel ‘Dipika Ki Duniya’.

Dipika was born on 6th August 1986. Her father, whose name is not available in public sources is an army officer. Dipika’s mother’s name is Renu Kakar. The actress also has a brother and two elder sisters.

Relationships

In 2011, Dipika got married to Raunak Samson, a pilot. However, the couple got divorced in 2015 due to personal and compatibility issues. Later, Dipika fell in love with Shoaib Ibrahim, her co-star in the series Sasural Simar Ka.

It was not love at first sight between the couple. Initially, they were friends and after Shoaib left the show, their friendship bloomed into love. 

On 22 February 2018, Dipika tied the knot with Shoaib in Bhopal. At the time of their marriage, Dipika converted to Islam and changed her name to Faiza Ibrahim. On 21st June 2023, Dipika and Shoaib became parents of a baby boy.

Education

Dipika Kakar completed her schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Pune. Later, she completed her graduation from the University of Mumbai.

Controversies

In 2021, Shoaib’s father suffered from a brain stroke and was hospitalized for nearly three weeks. After his father’s return home, Shoaib and Dipika shifted to the guestroom so that he would find it more comfortable in their bedroom. Following this, fans on social media started messaging Shoaib that it was unfair on his part to be unjust to Dipika. Some of them even said that he has made his wife a servant.

However, Dipika and Shoaib soon went live on YouTube and lambasted the fans who posted nasty comments.

According to Dipika, such people should be ashamed of themselves, and said that she pities them. The actress went on say that her in-laws have treated her like a daughter and even if she and her husband have to sleep in the car or roadside, they are ready to do that.

Dipika started her professional career as an air hostess. After working for three years in the industry in Mumbai, she ventured into acting. In 2010, Dipika made her television debut with the series ‘Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi’ and played the character of Lakshmi. She was next seen in ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo’ as Rekha.

The actress got a major break in her career in 2011 with ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, a series aired on Colors TV. With her portrayal of the character Simar Bhardwaj, Deepika soon became a household name. In 2019, the actress appeared in Star Plus’s series ‘Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum’.

Dipika participated in dance reality shows such as ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ in 2015, ‘Nach Baliye 8’ in 2017, and ‘Entertainment Ki Raat’ in 2017. In October 2018, she entered as a contestant in the reality show ‘Bigg Boss 12’ and emerged winner of the show.

Dipika kickstarted her career in Bollywood with the film ‘Paltan’ in 2018. Apart from serials, she has also been featured in music videos such as Yaar Dua, Jiye Toh Jiye Kaise 2.0, Toota Tara, Rab Ne Milayi Dhadkan, and Barsaat Ka Mausam.

• Dipika once opened up about the struggles she had to face before establishing a name in the industry. She said that she used to walk several kilometers to refill her mini stove.
