Easy Himalaya Treks You Could Do In This December – 2022
“Walking is the finest way to explore a place,” people say, but there is no better method to explore mountains than trekking. Trekking will take you to a different realm of nature by allowing you to witness unusual views while being on the trails for hours.
The Himalayas conjure up visions of white, snow-capped mountains reaching toward the sky, with clouds piercing through them. You are reminded of the world’s biggest peaks, such as Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, and Nanda Devi, which can only be ascended by experienced adventurers.
A fantasy world filled with rivers, forests, meadows, glaciers, snowfields, sunrises, sunsets, storms, clouds, showers, animals, birds, and people. When visiting the Himalayas, there are various treks available to novices that range in difficulty from easy to moderate.
Before diving into the details of the trek, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- You must have an active daily lifestyle to meet the fitness requirements for easy treks. That is, you should be able to walk 3 kilometers in 30 minutes while carrying a 5/6 rucksack.
- The majority of these excursions require you to camp or stay in tents.
- It is also critical to choose the right season for the trek. Every season has a trip, whether it’s spring/summer, fall/autumn, winter, or even monsoon.

The Following Are Ten Of The Greatest Himalayan Treks to Experience.
Kedarkantha
Kedarkantha (not to be confused with the renowned Temple Kedarnath) is a 6-day trek in Uttarakhand’s Govind Pashu Vihar National Park (6 when including the travel days from Dehradun to the base camp and back). During the winter season, Kedarkantha is easily one of the most popular treks in India, drawing both experienced and inexperienced trekkers.
There are numerous reasons why it is such a popular trip in the Indian Himalayas. The most crucial of these is the summit climb. The summit climb of Kedarkantha is extremely gratifying. The world opens up around you as you begin your walk in the early hours of the morning and progressively climb up the high slope of snow.
The journey is not easy. The entire span is steadily inclining. It becomes more difficult as you come closer to the top. However, the enormous mountains of the upper Himalayas keep you company until you reach the summit.
You get a great sense of fulfillment and success as you extend yourself and take in the sights of the Himalayas from the summit. This is an unparalleled sensation. Few treks provide the same experience, thus it’s famous among beginners for its best summit climb.
The lovely trees are the third most notable feature of this trek. The forests on all three routes are different and gorgeous, and they will immerse you. In case you are not careful, you will become lost in them.
Brahmatal Trek
The trek to an alpine lake is one of the highlights of a Himalayan trek. Unfortunately, most alpine lakes on the treks are closed in the winter, even though it is the most beautiful trek. However, on the winter Brahmatal trek, you not only travel to but also camp near an alpine lake. The possibility to journey to such a lake in winter is what distinguishes the Brahmatal trek.
The surroundings are stunning. The lake is located in a crater and has crystal-clear water, a shrine close by, and a lone tree on the opposite bank. And just beyond the lake’s rim, you can see two of the country’s most gorgeous mountains, Mt Trishul and Mt Nandaghunti.
While everyone is focusing on Brahmatal, don’t forget about Bekaltal, which another lake trekker fell in love with. Bekaltal, lower down, is also a wonderful site, surrounded by dense trees and enchanting legends.
The forest hikes on this snow-covered journey are among the nicest we have. They are lovely without being overpowering. A distance can be seen through the forest, with snow clinging to the tree limbs. Brahmatal is also a fantastic solo Himalayan trek option.
Deoriatal Chandrashila Trek
The Deoriatal Chandrashila trek is a highly unique trek since you can see all of the major summits of Western and Eastern Uttarakhand from the summit, rather than simply a section of the Himalayas ranges.
Not only that, but if you go between March and April, you’ll be walking among full-bloomed rhododendrons! And, because of the variety of birds seen on the trail, it is properly referred to be a bird watcher’s paradise.
The view from the Chandrashila top is unsurpassed among the treks. From the summit, you have one of the best mountain views in our Indian Himalayas. It’s like a huge feast – there’s so much to take in that you can’t possibly take it all in. It is an experience that many hikers will never forget.
What do you notice? The Gangotri range of peaks, Mt Thalaysagar, Kedarnath, and the Kedar dome are all to your left. Janhukut and Mandani Parbat The commanding Chaukhamba stands directly in front of you. The majority of them tower over 7,000 meters.
The Gauri Parbat, Hathi Parbat, and Dunagiri are on your right. Then, directly ahead, stands India’s tallest mountain, Mt Nanda Devi, against the skyline. Trekkers find it difficult to believe they are seeing Mt Nanda Devi.
To Mt Nanda Devi’s right, carved against the skyline, are Mt Nanda Ghunti and Mt Trishul. Two of our country’s most magnificent mountain peaks. It’s not simply the breathtaking sights. The trek itself is special in the winter. The trail, which winds through soft snow beneath the canopy of oak and rhododendron trees, is almost surreal.
Dayara Bugyal Trek
Dayara Bugyal has it all: beautiful forests, great campsites, ancient cities, exhilarating treks to high elevations, breathtaking mountain views, and some of Uttarakhand’s best alpine meadows. These fields are completely covered in snow during the winter. This is an easy-moderate hike, which is a rare gift.
This hike is quite rewarding at any time of year. The winter snowscape is a world unto itself. The woodlands are beautiful in the spring, the meadows are brilliant green in the summer, and they turn orange in the autumn, with stunning mountain views. You can go whenever you want and you will not be disappointed.
The fields are so meticulously planted that not a single rock or tree is out of place. The rewards are immensely disproportionate to the work you put in, with the regal vistas of the Gangotri mountain range in the background.
Valley Of Flowers Trek
Legends thrive on the Valley of Flowers trek. Flowers, leaves, and buds come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. The walk also passes through Hemkund Sahib, one of the holiest pilgrimage and religious sites in India.
Due to this, Valley of Flowers is now at the top of hikers’ wish lists worldwide. The expedition is moderately challenging, requiring several longer trekking days and an exhausting hike to Hemkund Sahib. So, get ready for this adventure.
Tarsar Marsar Trek
The Tarsar Marsar trek in Kashmir is the most picturesque hike in India. The Kashmir Great Lakes trip is the only other trek that comes close to matching its beauty. Because it is a moderate trip, you must arrive properly prepared. The trek leads you from one lake to the next, from Tarsar to Marsar to Sundarsar.
Tarsar Marsar is a trip where alpine lakes come to life. It’s not simply that you get to camp next to these royal blue, snow-fed lakes (you don’t have this camping opportunity even at KGL).
It’s an ideal position to take in the beauty of the lake as the sun rises above it. This will continue until clouds flow through the U-shaped valley and settle over the lake. Tarsar Marsar’s location is so stunning that it will leave you speechless for weeks!
Har Ki Dun – Ruinsara Tal
The Har Ki Dun – Ruinsara Tal trek in the Himalayas combines cultural and environmental splendor. Experiencing historic Himalayan communities alongside breathtakingly magnificent valleys, lakes, and meadows is a very unique combination.
Ruinsara Tal is completely isolated, and the Ruinsara valley is thought to be more beautiful than the Har Ki Dun valley itself!
It boasts a fantastic ancient culture, breathtaking mountain vistas, forests, grasslands, meadows, rivers, streams, and even an alpine lake. A good hike becomes even better with the addition of Ruinsara to Har Ki Dun.
Hampta Pass
This journey is a must-do since it is one of the most dramatic crossover excursions in the country. It begins in the beautiful green valleys of Kullu and leads to an overhang high in the Himalayas via a narrow gorge-like valley.
The Hampta Pass in Himachal Pradesh is one of the unusual and breathtaking Himalayan pass crossings, rising to a height of 14,000 feet. On one side of the trail is the lush green valley of Kullu, with woods, grasslands, and flowers blooming.
On the other side is Lahaul’s almost dry, austere terrain, with bare mountains and little flora. Standing atop the pass’s crest, what lies ahead and behind is a world apart. It is transformed in a couple of minutes.
The landscape is surprisingly similar to Valley of Flowers – a green narrow valley shielded by snow-covered mountains – but there’s an added benefit.
When you reach the other side of the Hampta Pass, you’ll be astounded by the striking contrast to what you’ve just left behind. Spiti Valley is noted for its desolate stretches, steep topography, and forget-me-not blue skies stretch out in front of you.
Phulara Ridge Trek
The Phulara Ridge trip is ideal in September, October, November, May, and June. The beautiful Pushtara meadows are another reason why every trekker should complete this himalayan trek.
Furthermore, for such a small distance, the Phulara Ridge climb has a magnificent deep woodland part. If you enjoy wildlife or bird watching, this is the journey for you.
Goechala
The Goechala trek path stretches for more than 75 kilometers and reaches an elevation of 15,100 feet.
This walk has numerous attractions. The most memorable moment was the sunrise above the Kanchenjunga range. Furthermore, throughout the warmer months of April and May, an abundance of beautiful rhododendrons line your path.
The incredibly clean Samiti Lake is another reason to do this hike. While the trail to Goechala is ancient, it was not always so well-known. The changes brought about by the Nepalese Civil War lasted from 1996 to 2006.
During this time, Nepal was closed to trekkers due to unrest. This himalayan trek promises a spectacular close-up of the world’s third-highest mountain, as well as amazing views of the Singalila range from Dzongri Top.
Sunrise over the Kanchenjunga Mountains. The sunrise above the Kanchenjunga range is one of the most beautiful parts of the Goechala trek. Samiti Lake is another major draw on the Goechala trip. The early morning view of the calm waters and Mt Pandim’s reflection in the lake is breathtaking.
