Hina Khan is an Indian actress who majorly works in Hindi television serials and movies. She rose to fame after portraying the roles of Akshara in ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, a series aired on Star Plus, and ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2’ produced by Balaji Telefilms. Hina also emerged as runner-up in two popular reality shows Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 and Bigg Boss 11.
At the Iconic Gold Awards function held on March 18th, 2023, she was one of the celebrities who walked the red carpet. Hina has a huge fan following on social media platforms with a whopping 18.8 million followers on Instagram and 6.7 million followers on Facebook.

Family
Born on 2 October 1987, Hina Khan hails from a Kashmiri Muslim family. Her father late Aslam Khan passed away on April 20th, 2021 following a heart attack. The name of Hina’s mother is not available in public sources. The actress also has a younger brother by the name of Aamir Khan who runs a travel agency.

Affair
In 2009, Hina met Rocky Jaiswal for the first time on the sets of the serial ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. At that time, Rocky was working as the supervising producer of the show. Soon Hina and Rocky became good friends. Later, Rocky proposed to Hina on the sets of the reality show Big Boss 11, and the couple fell in love with each other.
However, after dating Rocky for a long time, in December 2022, Hina Khan shared a cryptic post on social media. It sparked rumors that things are not hunky-dory between the couple. The actress, In her Instagram post, mentioned that betrayal is the only truth that sticks. Hina Khan also shared another quote stating that one has to remember to forgive himself/herself for the blindness that one has put in the path of those who betrayed them. She went on to say that there are times when a good heart doesn’t see the bad.
Later, in an interview, Heena refuted all the rumors of her alleged breakup with Rocky Jaiswal. She said that though there were some articles about the breakup rumors, there is no truth in them and her love life was wonderful. She also added that God has been kind and she knew that this would happen. Hina went on to say that Rocky is a completely different person and such matters don’t affect him.

Controversies
While she was a contestant at Bigg Boss 11, Hina was dragged into controversy in several instances following her remarks. The first one was regarding South Indian actresses and she went on to say that the South Indian film industry wants “bulging women”. In another instance, while speaking to Arshi Khan, she said that Sakshi Tanwar, a leading serial actress is cross-eyed. Hina’s third controversial comment was about former Bigg Boss winner Gauahar Khan.
As per her remark, Gauhar’s follower count was not even half of hers. The Kashmiri actress also indulged in body shaming and called actors Shilpa Shinde and Arshi Khan as drums. Hina’s fifth controversial remark was about Puneesh Sharma, her fellow contestant at Bigg Boss house as she passed the comment that his teeth were so dirty.

On April 24th, 2020, Hina Khan shared a TikTok video on her Instagram account. In her video, a machine voice is heard asking Hina that “I have always thought that you don’t have tattoos anywhere”. Immediately, a hilarious Heena replies “Honey, would you ever put a bumper sticker on a Bentley?”.

In 2008, Hina attended the auditions of ‘Indian Idol’, a singing reality show aired on Sony television, and managed to get featured in the top 30. Later, during her college days in Delhi, her friends forced her to attend the audition of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. Luck was in her favor, and Hina got selected for the role of Akshara Singhania. It was in 2009 and after acting in the series for 8 years, she bid goodbye to the series.
In 2017, Hina Khan became a contestant in ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8’ and emerged as the 1st runner-up. The following year, she joined Bigg Boss 11 as a celebrity contestant and became the 1st runner-up in that show as well.
Hina’s other major characters in serials include Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Nageshvari in Naagin 5. She has also acted in the short film Smartphone and films such as Hacked, Unlock, Wishlist, Lines, and Country of Blind.
