Imran Khan is an Indian actor who worked in Hindi films. He started his career as a child artist with the 1988 film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’. Later, in 2008, he debuted as a male lead in the Abbas Tyrewala-directed movie ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Naa.
In the following years, Imran went on to appear in several films such as I Hate Luv Storys, Delhi Belly, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.

Imran Khan Family
An American citizen by birth, Imran was born on 13 January 1983. His father Anil Pal is a Bengali Hindu of English descent and he worked as a software engineer. Imran’s mother Nuzhat Khan is a Muslim and she was a psychologist by profession.
The actor hails from a film background as his maternal grandfather, the Late Nasir Hussain was a director-producer, one of his uncles Mansoor Khan is also a director-producer and another uncle Aamir Khan is a leading actor in Bollywood.
When he was three years, Imran’s parents divorced and little Imran relocated to Mumbai along with his mother. Later, Imran Pal’s name was changed to Imran Khan.
Relationships
Imran was in a 10-year-long relationship with his childhood sweetheart Avantika Malik. Finally, the couple tied the knot in 2011 January. Imran and Avantika later became parents to a baby girl, Imara.
However, the couple’s relationship did not last for long and they parted ways in 2019. Back then, rumors were rife that it was Imran’s alleged relationship with South Indian actress Lekha Washington that caused a rift in his marital life. In 2023 February, Imran and Lekha were again spotted together in public, holding each other’s hands.

The actor did his schooling at Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai. Post that, Imran joined the boarding school ‘Blue Mountain’ in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Later, he shifted to Sunnyvale, California along with his father and continued his studies at Fremont High School.
Subsequently, he joined New York Film Academy in Los Angeles and secured a degree in filmmaking. The actor also attended an acting course at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute in Mumbai.
Controversies
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror in 2015, Imran asked sarcastically whether Bollywood director Rahul Rawail was still around. The actor’s statement irked Rahul and he later lambasted the actor by tweeting that he has sympathies for that mentally challenged person.

In 1988, Imran made his entry into Bollywood as a child artist with the film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’. Four years later, he again appeared in the Mansoor Khan-directed movie ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’.
Imran acted in a lead role for the first time in the 2008 film ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Naa. The film turned out to be a hit and Imran went on to win the ‘Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut’. Later, the actor appeared in several commercially successful movies such as ‘Hate Luv Storys’, ‘Delhi Belly’, ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ and ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’.
However, in the later years, Imran’s films such as Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola and Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara! flopped at the box office. The actor was last seen in Nikhil Advani’s romantic drama Katti Batti in 2015 and that film also tasted failure.
