Jayanti Chauhan: Facts To Know About Vice-chairperson Of Bisleri!
Jayanti Chauhan is the Vice-chairperson of Bisleri International Pvt Ltd. and the daughter of Ramesh J Chauhan, the Chairman of the business group. On March 20th, 2023, Ramesh Chauhan announced in an interview that going forward Jayanti will head the bottled water company and the management is no longer interested in selling Bisleri.
Though Tata Consumer Products had plans to acquire Bisleri, they called off the deal later. Popularly known as JRC, Jayanti started her professional journey with Bisleri at the young age of 24. She has also been featured in India Today Woman Power List 2013. Jayanti is also an avid traveler, animal lover, and amateur photographer.

Family
Born in 1985, Jayanti Chauhan is the only daughter of Ramesh Chauhan and Zainab Chauhan. She spent the majority of her childhood days in Delhi, Bombay, and New York City. Ramesh Chauhan is the man who popularised bottled water in India and it was under his leadership that Parle acquired Bisleri mineral water from an Italian company.
Zainab Chauhan, Bisleri’s first lady, and the director are one of the first businesswomen in the country who went to the market to sell soft drinks in a male-dominated market. Nowadays she is not actively involved in business but follows her passion for sponsoring the education of underprivileged children and feeding the needy.
Education
After completing her high school studies, Jayanti Chauhan enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), Los Angeles to pursue a course in product development. Later she went on to study Fashion Styling at the Istituto Marangoni Milano.
Jayanti’s other qualifications include a Fashion Styling and Photography course from the London College of Fashion and a degree in Arabic from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.

In November 2022, Jayanti’s father Ramesh Chauhan announced that he was scouting for a potential buyer for Bisleri International. He also added that talks are going on with several interested buyers including Tata Consumer Products Ltd. According to Ramesh, his daughter Jayanti was not interested in running Bileri’s business empire and hence he was selling the company.

Jayanti has inked a total of three body tattoos. The first tattoo is on her left hand and the second one is on her left forearm. The last tattoo is on Jayanti’s left ankle with the words MJ. Of these, the letter ‘M’ stands for Michael whereas ‘J’ stands for Jackson.

Jayanti Chauhan worked as an intern with several leading fashion houses. Before joining Bisleri, she also worked as a Product Analyst with McKinsey & Company.
When she was 24 years of age, Jayanti began her professional journey with Bisleri, under the guidance of her father. However, getting into business was not easy for her and she had to make a case for her beliefs and decisions. It was at the company’s Delhi office and she started her career at the grassroots level. Jayanti Chauhan also took the initiative of renovating the factory and automating the various processes. Her other major contributions include restructuring various departments ranging from Marketing, Sales, and HR and setting up stronger teams.
In 2011, Jayanti took charge of Bisleri’s Mumbai office. Apart from working on new product development, Jayanti is also actively involved in streamlining various divisions such as Bisleri Mineral Water, Vedica Natural Mineral Water from the Himalayas (that belongs to the Luxury Segment), Bisleri Hand Purifier and Fizzy Fruit Drinks.
Jayanti Chauhan is also instrumental in providing valuable insights into marketing and branding. She also has a keen interest in digital marketing. Jayanti’s aim is to capture a 100% market share of packaged drinking water in India.
