Kantara Is Rajkummar Rao's Example Of A Successful Medium-budget Film

Kantara, a south Indian film received immense acclamation and won the hearts of millions of people. This 2022 movie was not only entertaining but also left everyone with an experience to cherish forever.

Its budget was INR 16 crores but it earned INR 400 crores – INR 450 crores at the box office. Recently, Rajkumar Rao talked about the movie and said that it is an example of how a medium-budget film gets successful.

While promoting his upcoming movie Bheed, a socio-political drama; Rajkumar Rao said that the best method of promoting any movie is through word of mouth. Taking the example of Kantara, Rajkumar said that since the narrative of the movie was so engaging, it pulled the audience to theatres to watch.

When it is a medium-budget movie, if the film cannot create a huge canvas experience for the audience, it has to entertain them with something else. To keep the audience engaged, something has to be created and only then the makers can talk about it.

Rajkumar feels that talking about a movie is the only PR available right now. Sharing his opinion, the Stree actor Kantara movie traveled throughout the country. He said that if he is in Mumbai and several people are asking whether he has watched the movie or not, that鈥檚 when it goes to show that the movie was so good.

After receiving questions continuously, Rajkumar Rao went to watch it. This is the PR strategy he talked about and said that simply create a good film and let people talk about it.

When asked about the popularity of South Indian movies in Bollywood, Rajkumar Rao said that today language isn鈥檛 a barrier. What鈥檚 positive is that people are expecting the actors and creators to focus on the story. Every language can tell a story but it has to be engaging.

Seeing the way movies are received at the box office, we cannot help but agree with Rajkumar Rao. If the movie has depth, the audience would go and watch it. Although if the same kind of story is served every time, the public today won鈥檛 entertain it.

While discussing his upcoming movie Bheed, the National Award winner said that the movie is set during the times of pandemic but it shows the story of resilience and hope. While discussing the times of COVID-19, the actor said that although the 2nd wave of it was heart-breaking, India tackled the problem.

Even when the countries in Europe were struggling, our nation came out strong. There were people who were stuck in other places and wanted to go back home. Bheed talks about their journey.

This movie has Rajkumar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles with Pankaj Kapur, Ashutosh Rana, and Dia Mirza showcasing important characters. It is directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by the T-series owned by Bhushan Kumar. Benaras Mediaworks by Sinha is also a part of the production team and the movie got released on the 24th of March.
