Neha Sharma: Know More About The Bollywood Fame!

Neha Sharma is an Indian film actress and model who majorly works in Hindi movies. Apart from Hindi, she has acted in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Punjabi films. Neha kickstarted her acting career in 2007 by acting in the Telugu movie ‘Chirutha’. Later, in 2010 she went on to act in Crook, her debut Hindi movie.

She received rave reviews for her brilliant performance in the semi-hit Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum. Neha has a huge fan following on social media platforms with a whopping 21.7 million followers on Facebook and 15.3 million followers on Instagram.

Neha was born on 21st November 1987. Her father Ajit Sharma is a businessman turned politician who is part of the Indian National Congress.

Currently, the Congress Legislative Party leader in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Ajith won three times from the Bhagalpur constituency in the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections.

Neha also has a sister, Aisha Sharma who is an actor and model. Aisha made her acting debut in Hindi with the movie Satyamev Jayate alongside John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee.

Relationship

In April 2014, there were rumors doing the rounds that Neha was in a relationship with Hindi film actor Jackky Bhagnani. Jackky was Neha’s co-star in the Hindi movie Youngistaan. However, a year later, in June 2015 media reported that the star couple had a breakup.

Education

Neha did her schooling at the Mount Carmel School in Bhagalpur. Later, she enrolled at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi, and completed her degree in fashion design.

Controversies

On 23rd April 2023, Neha walked the ramp for fashion designer Anisha Shetty at the Times Fashion Week. The actress appeared in a stunning lehenga choli with a low neckline that exposed her cleavage.

It led to a furor on social media and the netizens sharply criticized the actress for her indecent dressing. Neha was even compared with Uorfi Javed and Poonam Pandey for her bold appearance.    

In 2018, Neha spoke about the traumatizing incident of how her morning selfie photograph was morphed with a sex toy in the background and later posted on social media by the miscreants.

During that time the actress was working in the web series ‘Illegal’. According to Neha, when she reached the shooting location, people on the set were not speaking to her, but behaving in a weird manner.

Later, she checked with her co-workers and got to know that her morphed photograph had gone viral. However, Neha later posted the original photo on her Instagram account and wrote that it’s sad how misogynistic people can become.

In July 2020, during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Neha shared an Instagram video where she is seen inking a tattoo on her hands with the words ‘Excelsior’. In the past, Neha’s sister Aisha had also inked a tattoo on her body with the same words.

When Neha Sharma was doing her fourth year of studies at NIFT, filmmaker Puri Jagannadh who was looking out for a fresh face in ‘Chirutha’ came across her photograph. Thus, she played the role of Sanjana in the movie and two years later, Neha played the character of Hema in Kurradu, a 2009 Telugu movie.

The actress later went on to act in several Hindi films such as Teri Meri Kahaani, Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, and Kriti, a short film. Neha’s other major project was Xuan Zang, the Chinese historical adventure film that was nominated as China’s official entry for the 89th Academy Awards.

In 2017, Neha made her foray into Tamil movies with ‘Solo’, a film directed by Bejoy Nambiar. Three years later, in 2020, she acted in her debut Punjabi movie ‘Ik Sandhu Hunda Si’ in which she played the character of Simran.

Apart from movies, Neha has acted in a couple of web series such as Illegal and Shining With The Sharmas where she played the character of herself. Apart from that, she has also appeared in several music videos such as Dheeme Dheeme, Dil Ko Karaar Aaya, Thoda Thoda Pyaar, and Pehli Pehli Baarish.

• On more than one occasion, Neha was part of her father Ajit Sharma’s election campaign. When Ajit won the elections for a third time from Bhagalpur, she expressed her gratitude to the people of that constituency via an Instagram post.  

• In her early days, Neha used to suffer from severe asthma and she was also weak and unwell. However, the actress says she got rid of asthma completely with the blessings of a family in Hyderabad.

• Both Neha and her sister Aisha focus on fitness. The actor sisters are getting trained under Antoni Pecora who has worked with the likes of celebrities such as Daniel Creig, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vivek Oberoi.

• In April 2023, Neha and her sister Aisha bought a Mercedes GLE, a luxury car costing more than Rs.1 crore.

• Since her childhood days, Neha has been very passionate about dance and she learned Kathak at an early age.
