Best Places To Visit In South Goa In One Day
Cavelossim South Goa
A picturesque land between the Arabian Sea and the Sal River, this landscape of tranquil beauty is perfect to laze around or try a hand at the Dolphin trip. The paddy in the backdrop field gives the added ambiance. The black rocks along with the white sand add to the beauty of the place.
You can cruise along the Sal River between the paddy fields, and mangroves, or go for fishing trips. See the sky and the earth from above by parasailing or speeding away in the ocean in a speed boat ride. There is a Water scooter and Jet Skiing too for the hair-raising moments.
You can reach Cavelossim Beach from the Panjim bus stand in approximately 1 hour and it’s around 45 minutes from the Goa International Airport.
Colva Beach
A magnificent spot for tourists in the quaint village of Goa, Colva beach and its 2.4 km stretch of turquoise waves, and palm trees are a sight for every Goan tourist. The remarkable influence of the Portuguese in this area is visible in the architecture and the culture. This is one of the best places to visit in south goa.
There are many food spots, hotels, and shops along the way. The Igreja de Nossa Senhora das Mercês, the Colva Church, gives more significance to the beach.
You can vibe in some of the best clubs in Colva Beach like Club Margarita, Boomerang Bar, Club Sunshine, or Wendy’s Fire to name a few. Colva Beach lies 27 kilometers from Panjim. It takes around 40 minutes to reach Panjim. by car and 30 minutes from the Goa International Airport. Don’t forget the flea markets and the night markets to get the experience to the fullest.
Benaulim Beach
Noted for its calm and serene atmosphere, Benaulim Beach is one of the evergreen beaches in Goa with captivating shorelines, nightlife, and vibrant parties. A fishing beach, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and rejuvenate, far from the business of the world.
A quiet paradise, it is just 2 kilometers south of Colva. Benaulim Beach is around 40 minutes from Panjim and only 31 km from the Goa International Airport.

St Xavier’s Church
An excellent example of Gothic architecture, St Xavier’s Church, is one of the prominent landmarks for Catholics and a must-visit on the bucket list of Goa. the church holds the body of Saint Francis Xavier in a glass mausoleum adding to the importance.
It also has a gallery with modern art collections. If one visits in December, you can be a part of the traditional Christmas celebration and get a taste of the culture firsthand.
Se Cathedral
A 16th-century masterpiece, Se Cathedral, or St. Catherine’s Cathedral is the largest church in Asia. The elegant architecture with its distinctive Portuguese-Manueline style, does justice to being named a world heritage site by UNESCO.
Built in the laud of the Portuguese triumph over the Muslim rulers, the cathedral has intricate woodworks, that will leave one amazed. It is the Archdiocese of Goa and is home to the infamous Golden Bell, the largest in the world.
It also has scenes from the life of Saint Catherine carved on six panels on the main altar. Located in Old Goa, it is 12 km from Panaji and 28 km from the airport.
St. Cajetan Church
Dating back to 1661, the St. Cajetan Church also known as the Church of Divine Providence is one of the most surreal churches in Goa. inspired by the St. Peter’s Basilica of the Vatican, this church has its name in the list of World Heritage Churches of Goa. The church has multiple
architectural marvels including Corinthian, Baroque, Rococo, and Goan influence. It has the shape of a Greek cross and inscriptions from the Gospel of Matthew in Latin.
