Prithvi Shaw is an international cricketer from India and has represented the country in all formats of cricket. A right-handed batsman and an off-break bowler, Prithvi Pankaj Shaw made his debut for India at the early age of 18. He went on to become the youngest Indian to score a test century in a debut match and also holds the record for the youngest Indian after Sachin Tendulkar to score a test century.

Prithvi Shaw Family
Born in Thane, Maharashtra Prithvi belongs to a Bihari family. His parents migrated from Gaya, Bihar to Thane for the purpose of employment. Prithvi’s father Pankaj Shaw was a businessman. Prithvi Shaw lost his mother when he was just 4 years old.

It was his father who took care of Prithvi during his childhood days. In the early days, Pankaj Shaw noticed his son’s talent in cricket. Considering his future, in 2006 he quit his business and shifted to Mumbai from Virar, so it became close for Prithvi to practice at MIG ground in Bandra, Mumbai.
Affair
Prithvi Shaw is reportedly dating Prachi Singh, a popular television actress. She is best known for her stunning performance in Udaan, a famous television show. Apart from being an actress, she is also an amazing belly dancer.
It was Prachi’s Instagram stories on Prithvi during IPL 2021 that sparked dating rumors between the couple. When the cricketer steered his team Delhi Dare Capital to victory in one of the matches, Prachi wrote on her Instagram story “I’m so proud of you!

Prithvi did his schooling at A.V.S.Vidyamandir, Virar, and Rizvi Springfield High School, both in Mumbai. Later he completed his graduation from Rizvi College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mumbai.
Controversies
In February 2019, Prithvi Shaw was slammed with an 8-month ban by BCCI as he tested positive in a dope test. It was during the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament that the young cricketer was found to have used terbutaline, a prohibited drug.
Subsequently, he came up with a tweet to prove his innocence. As per Prithvi’s tweet, due to a severe cough and cold, he had taken cough syrup as suggested by his dad. He had no knowledge of the fact that it contains a prohibited substance as he missed consulting with his physio.
However, BCCI later handed over a backdated ban and Prithvi made a comeback within 4 months.

It proved to be a turning point in Prithvi’s career when he received a contract from AAP Entertainment in 2001. This helped the cricketer and his family to migrate from Thane to Mumbai and continue his cricket coaching.
During their school days, he became the captain of Rizvi Springfield High School. When he was just 14 years old, Prithvi scored 546 off 330 balls in the Harris Shield elite division and it was a record score at that point in time. Later, he also managed to get an entry into the Mumbai under-16 team.
In 2014, Prithvi played for the Yorkshire ECB County Premier League and delivered impressive knocks. Two years later, in November 2016 he was selected for the India Under-19 squad that emerged winner in the youth Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. After two months, he made his maiden Ranji trophy appearance by playing for Mumbai.
In the 2018 IPL auction, Prithvi Shaw was bought by the Delhi Daredevils for a sum of Rs. 1.2 crores. The same year saw him being picked for India’s Test squad for the final two Tests against England. However, he did not get an opportunity to play.
Later, in the same series, on 4th October 2018, the cricketer made his Test debut against West Indies. In the same match, Prithvi went on to score a century and achieved the record of the youngest batsman to make a Test century in the maiden match for India.
It was in June 2021 that Prithvi got the selection for India’s One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) teams for their series against Sri Lanka.

Prithvi’s major source of income is earned through IPL and brand endorsements. As per reports, his IPL salary stands at 7.5 crores. Prithvi Shaw endorses a wide range of brands such as Nike, SG, FanMojo, Boar, SportzXchange, MRF, ProteinX, and Bharat Pe and he charges a whopping Rs.1 crore for brand endorsements.
