Family
Rajat Patidar was born on 1 June 1993. His father is a businessman and there is no information available about his mother or siblings in the public domain.
Relationship
Rajat was supposed to tie the knot with a girl from Ratlam city of Madhya Pradesh. Since the cricketer went unsold at the IPL 2022 mega auction, as per the earlier plans, his marriage was scheduled to take place on May 9th, 2022. However, following an injury to Luvnith Sisodia, one of the players of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajat was picked as a replacement player on April 3rd for a sum of Rs. 20 lakhs. Thus, the cricketer’s marriage was postponed to a future date.
While commenting about the incident, Rajat’s father said that since they were not planning a grand affair, they didn’t print the wedding invitation cards. He also added that as per the earlier plans, he had already booked a hotel in Indore for the wedding function.

Rajat Patidar did his primary and secondary education at New Digamber Public School in Indore. Later he completed his graduation from Indore University.
Profession
When Rajat was 8 years of age, he joined a cricket club. Eventually, the cricketer’s grandfather enrolled him in a cricketing academy. In the initial days of his career, the young cricketer focussed on bowling. Later after playing in the Under 15 levels, he started concentrating on batting.
On 30 October 2015, Rajat made his first-class cricket debut by playing in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy. Two years later, i.e. on 8 January 2018, he made his Twenty20 debut for the state of Madhya Pradesh at the 2017–18 Zonal T20 League. In the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, he emerged as the top run-scorer for Madhya Pradesh with a mammoth total score of 713 runs in just eight matches.
In August 2019, Rajat Patidar was picked for the India Blue team’s squad for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy. Two years later, in February 2021, he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2021 Indian Premier League. However, the cricketer’s performance was poor as he could score only 71 runs in the four games, and eventually, Rajat Patidar was released before the 2022 Indian Premier League. Later, though he went unsold at the 2022 IPL Player Auction, he was fortunate to be called back by Royal Challengers Bangalore mid-season as a substitute for a sum of INR 20 Lakhs.
On 25 May 2022, in the Eliminator match held at the 2022 Indian Premier League, he scored a quick 112 runs out of just 54 balls and won the match against Lucknow Super Giants. With that incredible performance, Rajat Patidar went on to create the record of becoming the first uncapped player to score a century in the playoffs stage of the IPL. He also achieved the record of the joint-fastest century scored by a player in the playoffs stage. At the end of the 2022 season, Patidar recorded an incredible performance of 333 runs in just 8 matches averaging 55.50.
When it comes to international cricket, Rajat Patidar was named in India’s One-Day International (ODI) team for the series against South Africa in October 2022. Later, in February 2023, he was also called for the ODI squad against New Zealand as Shreyas Iyer was ruled out due to an injury. Unfortunately, on both occasions, Rajat did not get an entry into the playing eleven and he is yet to play his debut international match.

- Ishwar Pandey, the veteran Madhya Pradesh cricketer commented that Rajat has been the sankat-mochan for their team after Rajat’s stellar performance at the IPL eliminator helped RCB zoom past into the qualifier two. The term sankat-mochan means problem solver or hanuman. He went on to say that Rajat has delivered such excellent innings in the past, but since none were aired on television, people didn’t come to know about him. Ishwar also mentioned that with his latest performance, he has undoubtedly become the hanuman of RCB.
