Ratna Pathak Shah Is Happy That 'Saddi Hui Formula Wali Filmein' No Longer Work

There are very few actors in Bollywood who can speak the truth without fear and be vocal about their opinions in front of everyone. One of those actors is Ratna Pathak Shah; the woman who is known to be evergreen for her role of Maya Sarabhai in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai.

We have seen her in plenty of serials and movies. Now she is taking the OTT platform by storm through her new series “Happy Family; Conditions Apply”. While attending several interviews, Ratna Pathak Shah candidly talked about Bollywood movies, boring scripts, and much more. Here is what she said –

In one of her interviews, Ratna Pathak spoke about the changing scenario of Bollywood and how it is a good thing. The actress said that it has become easier for women of every age to perform on the screen because she is not a believer in the kind of work that is designed around a hero.

This doesn’t look interesting because when the focus shifts from the story to an actor, then the entire theme gets restricted to his personality. What happens is that she doesn’t get the opportunity to challenge herself. But this is a good time for every actor (male and female) and of every age instead of the binary for work.

While she talked about the formula movies, Ratna Pathak Shah said that all of a sudden, the world has gotten caught up in the way someone lives life and she loves this kind of shuffling. She also asked a rhetorical question of whether this would continue to happen or not. This is yet to see and God knows what would happen.

The positive thing is that the audience and industry are moving in that direction and now there is no turning back. The same old “saddi hui formula wali movies” won’t work and she is thankful for that.

This is not the first time when the actress has spoken some hard-hitting facts about Bollywood. In one of her previous interviews, Ratna Pathak Shah took a dig at the new actors and said that would a chef, personal assistant, and gym equipment help them become better performers?

She shared an instance where she saw that actors don’t drink their own beverages on flight and have personal assistants for the same. She indicated how the new generation of Bollywood is so dependent on others to even move. This all seems silly to her and should not be practiced.

Netizens cannot agree with her more as although Ratna is blunt, she is right. The Bollywood stars have become so dependent on others that it might not be possible for them to do anything on their own.

Being a fan of Ratna Pathak Shah’s work, we have to talk about her new series on Amazon Prime “Happy Family”. It is already getting a lot of praise and is a light-hearted show. If you still haven’t watched it then this is your time to do so!
