Controversies

Following the debacle of the movie, the fans of Mahesh Babu started posting several hashtags on social media against the film and its director.
Srikanth was also harshly criticized for delivering such a terrible movie and letting down Mahesh. However, Mahesh quickly intervened and said not to blame the director for the failure of the film.
The actor went on to say that he want to take responsibility and that it was his choice to pick director Srikanth for the film.
Srikanth Addala Profession
After discontinuing his Ph.D. at IIT Delhi, Srikanth went to Hyderabad to pursue his passion for cinema. Though he struggled a lot, Srikanth finally got an opportunity to work as Assistant director with director VV Vinayak for the film ‘Tagore’ released in 2003.
The turning point in Srikanth’s life was meeting producer Dil Raju through one of his common friends. It paved the way for Srikanth to assist in ‘Arya’ and ‘Bommarillu’, both films produced by Dil Raju.
With the turn of events, Dil Raju was quite impressed by the youngster’s work and he asked Srikanth to come up with a story of his own. Thus, ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’, the debut film written and directed by Srikanth happened in 2008. The film had Varun Sandesh and Shweta Basu Prasad in the lead roles and it turned out to be a superhit.
It was followed by ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’, a 2013 film starring actors such as Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu, and Samantha. The movie written and directed by Srikanth also became a blockbuster at the box office.
In 2014, Srikanth directed ‘Mukunda’ and the film was later dubbed into Hindi under the title ‘Dushman No. 1’. It was also dubbed in Malayalam and Tamil with the same title. After ‘Brahmotsavam’ s miserable failure at the box office, Srikanth later came up with ‘Narappa’ in 2021. It was the remake of the Vetrimaaran-directed Tamil film Asuran which had Venkatesh, Priyamani, and Karthik Rathnam in the lead roles.
‘Pedda Kapu 1′ is the upcoming movie from Srikanth which has newcomer Virat Karna in the lead role. The film is all set to release on 18th August 2023.
Apart from being a director and writer, Srikanth also appeared as an actor in the 2004 film Arya. He also turned lyricist in movies such as Kotha Bangaru Lokam and Brahmotsavam.
