Surbhi Jyoti is an Indian actress who works majorly in Hindi television serials and Punjabi films. She started her acting career by making appearances in regional theatre and films.
However, Surbhi rose to fame after portraying the character of Zoya Farooqui in the 2012 television series ‘Qubool Hai telecast on Zee TV. Later, in 2021 the actress made her debut in films with the Saurabh Tyagi-directed movie ‘Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai?’.
Surbhi is an internet sensation with 10 million followers on Instagram and 5.6 million followers on Facebook.

Surbhi Jyoti Family
Surbhi was born on 29th May 1988. The actress’s father was in the business of rubber chemicals and the name of her mother is not available in public sources.

Surbhi also has a sister by the name Shanu Jyoti and a brother Sooraj Jyoti who is an engineer by profession.
Relationships
In 2017, rumors surfaced that Surbhi is in a relationship with her co-stars including Karan Singh Grover and Varun Toorkey. However, the actress later refuted all those rumors stating that none of them were true. Later, in 2018, rumors started doing the rounds that Surbhi is dating actor Sumit Suri.
Sumit was featured along with Surbhi in the music video titled ‘Haanji’. As per sources, though the couple has been together for four months, they wanted their relationship to be a secret affair.

The actress attended Shiv Jyoti Public School in her early years before graduating from Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya. Later Surbhi earned a degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in English Literature from Apeejay College of Fine Arts.
Controversies
In 2021, Surbhi’s name was embroiled in a controversy as the actress allegedly used derogatory words in the web series ‘Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai?’. Shri Hindu Takht, a Hindu outfit that led the protest demanded the arrest of the actress for hurting religious sentiments.
The members of the company said that they will fast to death until the actress is arrested. Shri Hindu Takht also complained to Surbhi with the police.

In the initial stages of her career, Surbhi tried her hand at regional theatre, films and also worked as a radio jockey. Later, she acted in Punjabi films such as Ik Kudi Punjab Di, Raula Pai Gaya, and Munde Patiala De. The actress also appeared in the Punjabi television series Akiyaan To Door Jayen Na and Kach Diyan Wanga.
Surbhi got a significant break in her career with the television show ‘Qubool Hai’ telecast on Zee TV in 2012. She portrayed the role of Zoya Farooqui and went on to win the GR8! Performer of the Year—Female award at the Indian Television Academy Awards. Later, the actress gained more popularity after playing the role of Bela Sehgal in Naagin 3, a series aired on Colors TV.
Surbhi forayed into Bollywood in 2021 with the Hindi film ‘Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai?’, directed by Saurabh Tyagi. She portrayed the character of Sonam Gupta and was cast opposite Jassie Gill in the film.
Surbhi has also acted in several web series including Desi Explorers Taiwan, Desi Explorers Yas Island, Tanhaiyan, and Qubool Hai 2.0. The actress has also been featured in many music videos such as Aaj Bhi, Judaiyaan, Sakhiyaan, Ghana Kasoota, Bismillah 2, and Ve Tu.
