Swini Khara: Former Indian Actress & Instagram Influencer!

Swini Nimesh Khara is an Indian film actress and Instagram influencer. She started her career in the Hindi film industry as a child artist and rose to fame by portraying the character of ‘Sexy’ in the movie Cheeni Kum.

Later, Swini went on to act in several other blockbuster films such as  M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Paathshala, and Delhi Safari. Apart from movies, she has also acted in several television serials such as Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, Dill Mill Gayye, and Zindagi Khatti Meethi. Swini is quite popular on social media with a whopping 16,100 followers on Instagram.

Born on July 12, 1998, Swini is originally a Gujarati. She is the only child of Nimesh Khara and Shilpa Khara.

Affair

Swini Khara got to know Urvish Desai, a Gujarati, for quite some time. A mechanical engineer who holds an MBA from the Stevens Institute of Technology, Urvish currently runs his own business, Superslides & Ballscrews Co. India Pvt. Ltd. He works as Director, of Business Development with the organization. 

On 1st March 2023, the actress in an Instagram post shared the photographs of her engagement ceremony with Urvish. The post was accompanied by the caption ‘I’d marry you with paper rings’. Swini was looking pretty in a pink embellished gown whereas her beau appeared in a black sherwani.

In the photos, the actress is seen holding the hands of her fiance and the couple looking at each other romantically. In the other photos, Urvish is seen kneeling down and making her wear the engagement ring and also dancing with her.

The following day Swini shared more photos with her beau where he is seen kissing her and the soon-to-be-married couple posing for a photo on the beach with the sunset in the backdrop. The actress later revealed in an interview that hers is an arranged match.

In 2013, Swini completed her schooling at Ryan International School. The following year she joined Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics for HSC, Business/ Commerce, and passed out in 2016.

In the same year, she enrolled at the National Academy of Legal Studies & Research (NALSAR) University, Hyderabad for pursuing her law studies and achieved a BA.LLB, Law degree in 2021.

Controversies

In December 2010, it stirred controversy when Swini was denied permission to watch ‘Kaalo’, a Bollywood movie in which she played the lead role. It all started when the actress went to Cinemax Premieres to watch the premiere show of her movie.

She was accompanied by her family, close friend Ehsaas Channa and his parents. Since the movie was rated ‘Adults Only’, the theatre authorities refused to let the 12-year-old Swini step inside the movie hall.

Though the actress and Ehsaas argued with the theatre officials, they were quite adamant and didn’t grant them permission to enter inside. Later, while commenting on the incident, Swini said that she was extremely disappointed that she could not watch her own movie from a theatre.

Swini currently works as a Legal Associate with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, a full-service Indian law firm at their Mumbai office. She has been working in this role from August 2021 onwards.

As a child artist, Swini took her baby steps in acting by appearing as Chaitali Thakkar in ‘Baa Bahoo Aur Baby’, a comedy-drama series aired on Star Plus. However, she became a household name after playing the role of ‘Sexy’ in Cheeni Kum, a 2007 Hindi movie. Sexy, a cancer patient, was the close friend of the character portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan.

In 2016, Swini acted in the movie ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ and her role was that of cricketer Dhoni’s elder sister Jayanti which became quite popular. Swini’s other major Bollywood movies include Parineeta, Elan, Chingaari, Hari Puttar, Paathshala, Kaalo – The Desert Witch, and Delhi Safari.

• In a message to the school students at Ryan school, she advised the upcoming generation to work hard in life. She went on to say that despite obstacles, one should never give up.  
• She wants a winter wedding, but the dates are yet to be finalized.
• In 2016, Swini quit her acting career and shifted to Hyderabad to pursue her education. Though she is getting offers for acting, she is unsure whether she wants to return to acting.
• The actress says that she has always loved acting. During her school days, she was actively involved in drama, speeches, and mono-acting, which helped her gain confidence in auditions. Another advantage was that it enabled Swini to remember her long dialogues with her characters.
• After her engagement, Swini mentioned that her fiance is a gem of a person and he is absolutely amazing.
