This place is located on the western coast in the Sindhudurg District of Maharashtra, India. It is just on the north of Goa and is surrounded by mountain ranges.

Near the beach, you can also catch dolphin droops. Additionally, a 5-kilometer stretch of backwaters along paddy fields and the group of three rocky islands known as Nivati Rock, which is located about 10 nautical miles offshore, are both present.

Vengurla Lighthouse is one of the most famous tourist places and is also one of the oldest lighthouses of Vengurla beach town. This was constructed for helping the fisherman to guide the ships about directions. It is the most suitable place for spending quality time with friends and family along with spectacular views of the Arabian Sea and the mountain ranges. A ticket of Rs. 10 per person is charged for entering the lighthouse.

Around 8 km away from the main city is a beach named Mochemad Beach. This beach is covered with 200 feet high mountain ranges and golden sand. Unique kinds of trees such as Cyprus and Suru are found on this beach. A lot of water sports activities are available on this beach for tourists to have fun in the water. This is a must-visit place for adventure lovers.

Sagareshwar Beach

Sagareshwar Beach is another appealing beach of Vengurla which is also having a small temple dedicated to the Lord of the Sea i.e., Sagareshwara. This is the most suitable beach for swimming lovers. You can also swim with dolphins. Cajurina plantation is used to border this beach which enhances the beauty of this beach.

Sateri Devi Jal Mandir

Sateri Devi Jal Mandir is situated in Vengurla and is dedicated to Goddess Sateri. This Mandir is surrounded by dense thick forestation on both sides which soothes our eyes. This Mandir is also known as Jal Mandir due to the artificial water body around the mandir which is the major attraction of this place.

Fruit Research Centre

Fruit Research Centre is situated in Vengurla, Maharashtra. This center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 5 days a week with weekends off. One can get to know about a variety of fruit plantations and also see them through a tour of their orchard. The guide of the center also explains to the tourist about the insects, cultivation, plants, and trees in their labs. One must visit this place for knowledge purposes about the different plants, fruits, trees, and many more.

Redi Ganpati Temple

As Vengurla is famous for its temple, Redi Ganpati Temple is one of the most-visited temples in this place. Redi Ganpati Temple is popular for the Manganese mines found near this temple. The 15 feet high idol of Ganpati in sitting posture was discovered in 1976 from the Manganese mine. This place is a must-visit during the Ganpati Festival. The best time to visit Vengurla is in the winter season when the weather is pleasant and comfortable for sightseeing or activities. This place should be visited between the months of October, November, December, January, February, March, and April as the weather is chilly with low temperatures. If someone loves the monsoon season and tropical rains, they must visit this place between June and August for experiencing the lovely rainy weather.

Vengurla is a small town, which is situated in the Sindhudurg district of the Indian state Maharashtra near Goa. This town lies on the extreme south coastline of Maharashtra. Vengurla can be reached via various modes of transportation such as by air, by road, or by rail.

  • By Airways: Vengurla doesn’t have its own airport. One has to book tickets for the Dabolim Airport in Goa. From the Dabolim Aiport, Vengurla is around 100 km away which is approximately 2 hours drive. You can take a bus, auto, or taxi to reach the location from the airport.
  • By Railways: The nearest railway station for visiting Vengurla is Sawantwadi Railway Station just 20 km distance. Another option for reaching this place is through Kudal Railway Station which is approximately 22 km away. You can also reach this place from Kolhapur Railway Station. These railway stations are well-linked with all the major states of India.
  • By Roadways: Vengurla has well-maintained roads with good connectivity from various neighboring cities and states. Vergurla is around 110 km from Goa, 45 km from Malvan, 50 km from Siolim, 168 km from Kolhapur, etc. You can opt for a bus or take a road trip which will give you a memorable experience with beautiful views.
