It is better to travel to the bus stand of Palvancha first and then head to the temple which is just 4.5 km away from the bus stand. During the earlier days, this temple and its surroundings were covered with dense forest which later got converted into a Hindu temple. Rajiv Dummugudem Lift Irrigation Scheme is the official name of this project in the city. The purpose of this particular irrigation project was to supply water for the agricultural requirements in the districts of Warangal and Khammam. The river of Godavari is the source from which this irrigation project was also constructed in the city. Today, Rajiv Dummugudem Lift Irrigation Scheme is not an independent entity since it is also merged with the project called, Indira Sagar Rudramkota Lift Irrigation Scheme.

This merging has also caused the renaming of both as Sita Rama Lift Irrigation Project. The location of this irrigation project has now turned into a popular tourist destination and people hit the destination to spend evenings with their dear ones.
