Nirmal Pancholi, popularly known by the name Aditya Pancholi is an Indian actor, producer, and playback singer who works in the Hindi film industry. Though Aditya began his career as a lead actor, he gained more popularity in supporting and negative roles.
He ventured into acting with the television movies produced by Nari Hira, the owner of Stardust magazine. Later, Aditya forayed into mainstream Bollywood movies with Sasti Dulhan Mehnga Dulha, a film released in 1986.
Aditya’s major achievements include winning the GIF Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role and being nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role.

Aditya Pancholi Family
Born on 12 September 1965, Aditya is the son of Hindi filmmaker Rajan Pancholi and Aruna. He is married to Zarina Wahab, an actress who majorly worked in Hindi and Malayalam films.

The couple is having two children their son Sooraj Pancholi is an actor and their daughter Sana is a restaurateur based in Goa.
Relationships
Aditya and Zarina fell in love with each other on the sets of ‘Kalank Ka Tika’, a 1986 video film produced by Nari Hira for Hiba films. Within 15 days, the actor couple got married. It is to be noted that Zarina was elder than Aditya by 6 years.
Since both of them belonged to different religions, Zarina’s mother had objections to her daughter marrying Aditya. However, Zarina managed to convince her mother and finally, she tied the knot with the actor.
In 2008, Aditya admitted in an interview that she had fallen in love with Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. He also revealed that both of them lived together at one of his friends’ place for three years and they were as good as husband and wife. However, in 2019, Kanagana lodged a police complaint against Aditya accusing him of physically abusing her.

Controversies
In January 2019, a police case was filed against Aditya under Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). It was a mechanic who lodged a complaint against the actor at Versova police station, Mumbai for allegedly threatening to kill him when he asked the actor to pay the car repair charge of Rs 2.8 lakhs.
However, according to the actor, he had paid all the due amounts and had bank statements supporting his payment. He also said that the mechanic had kept his car for one year without any reason.
At one point in time, Aditya was dating actress Pooja Bedi, daughter of Kabir Bedi. During that time the actor was accused of raping her 15-year-old maid. Since the girl involved in the case was a minor, it stirred controversy.
Although Aditya repeatedly stated that it was consensual sex, the actor was proven guilty later. When Aditya’s involvement in the case was proven without a doubt, Pooja broke off the relationship with the actor.

After making his debut in Sasti Dulhan Mahenga Dulha in 1986, Aditya went on to act in a lead role in several movies. Some of them include Sailaab, Yaad Rakhegi Duniya, Chor Aur Chand, and Saathi. Of these, Saathi remained a major hit in Aditya’s acting performance in a lead role.
In the mid 90’s the actor made a switch from lead roles to supporting roles in movies such as Aatish, Jung, and Yes Boss. An amazing performance in Yes Boss earned Aditya a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role.
In the 2000s, Aditya started appearing as a negative character in several movies. The actor received rave reviews for his brilliant performance in movies such as Baaghi, the heist thriller Aankhen and Musafir.
Apart from the movies mentioned earlier, some of his remarkable performances include Striker, Race 2, Bajirao Mastani directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Race 3 – the sequel to Race 2.

Lesser Known Facts About Aditya Pancholi
Aditya once revealed in an interview that in the early phases of his career, he didn’t have enough money to enroll in acting classes. He also said that it is very difficult for an actor to get the first break.
When Aditya married a six-year elder Zarina, cynics said that Zarina had trapped a good-looking boy. They also wrote off their relationship stating that their marriage would not last even for a month. Later, while speaking in an interview in 2019, Zarina said that it’s been 31 years since she got married to him.
When his son Sooraj was acquitted by the court in connection with actress Jia Khan’s suicide, Aditya said that they are very grateful to God, the law of the country, and the judiciary.
Aditya’s daughter Sana studied films & acting in Los Angeles, USA and she always wanted to make a mark in Bollywood like the other family members of hers. Though filmmaker Suneel Darshan cast her for a movie titled ‘Shakalaka Boom Boom’ in 2006 opposite Uen Patel, things didn’t work out and Sana was replaced later by Kangana Ranaut.
Aditya once revealed in an interview that when he met Kangana Ranaut for the first time, she didn’t have a penny. The actor also said that she was on the road and was on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
According to Zarina, Aditya’s temper is notorious and his minus point overshadows his plus points. However, she was quick to add that he is a child at heart, to date she has never heard him gossip or badmouth anybody and she loves him for that. Zarina also said that her husband helps people without letting anyone know.
