Devraj Patel was an Indian YouTuber who passed away in a road accident on 26th June 2023. Famous for his comic content, Devraj rose to fame with the video ‘Dil se bura lagta hai’ – a one-liner that went viral on the internet.
The content creator also collaborated with Bhuvan Bam, the leading Youtuber in the comedy web series ‘Dhindora’. Devraj turned out to be an internet sensation with 4.49 lakh subscribers on his YouTube channel and 65,200 followers on Instagram.

Devraj Patel was born in 2001 to Ghanshyam Patel, an agriculturist, and Gauri Patel, a housewife. The Youtuber also has a brother by the name of Hemant Patel and a sister.

Devraj Patel was pursuing his graduation and completed his BA degree in June 2023.
Controversies
Devraj Patel once opened up about how he became a victim of body shaming and bullying. In his video, the YouTuber revealed that he often used to be the target of his short height and extra weight.
In his video ‘Bhai. Insaan hi hoon’, Devraj said that people stare at him as if he is an alien creature who has come from a different planet. He added that he is also a human being and loves to roam around and enjoy life.

On 2nd August 2020, Devraj launched his YouTube channel ‘Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai – Devraj Patel Official’. It was his friend-cum- manager Ankit Dubey who helped the content creator in creating his channel. The very first video by Devraj ‘Dil se bura lagta hai’ became an instant hit and garnered a massive 18,47,134 views.
It was followed by ‘Deva – The Don No. 1 Dialogue’ that fetched 41 lakh views and Dil Se.. achcha laga yeh parcel that attracted 9.8 lakh views. In just a span of two years, Devraj’s Youtube channel garnered a whopping 8.80 crore views. The content creator also received YouTube’s Silver Play Button award in recognition of his achievements.
In 2021, Devraj shot a video along with Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Minister of Chattisgarh. In the video, the YouTuber was seen saying that the only two famous people in Chattisgarh are himself and ‘Kaka’, the name by which the Chief Minister is popularly referred to.
The turning point in Devraj’s career was associating with Bhuvan Bam, the renowned YouTuber in the comedy web series ‘Dhindora’. As part of working on that project, Devraj got an opportunity to travel to Mumbai and meet top comedians such as Tanmay Bhatt and Zakir Khan. The content creator has also featured in several advertisements and a Chhattisgarhi film which is yet to hit the theatres.
It was Devraj’s dream to work with Kapil Sharma, the famous comedian. In a step towards fulfilling his dream, Devraj was working on two characters, Deva the Don and Deva Bazooka. He was planning to pitch those characters to the makers of the ‘Kapil Sharma Show’.
Devraj was staying in Raipur to pursue better career opportunities. He was also planning to shift base to Mumbai so that he could get comedy roles in movies. On 26th June 2023, Devraj breathed his last following a tragic road accident that took place near Labhandi in Raipur. The Youtuber was on the way back after shooting a video for his YouTube channel. The bike on which Devraj was riding a pillion collided with a truck which caused his death.

- During his childhood days, Devraj suffered from a nephrotic syndrome that affected his kidneys. Due to the disease, the YouTuber gained weight and even went through near-death experiences. However, in the last 7 years, Devraj had been undergoing treatment and lost weight significantly.
- On the occasion of the premier of ‘Dhindora’, Devraj was quite happy, However, he could not face the media that day due to motion sickness. Apparently, Devraj said that if he speak he would vomit.
- During his college days, Devraj worked in a part-time job that fetched him Rs.5,000.
