Drisha Acharya was born on 25th February 1991 to Sumit Acharya and Chimoo Bhattacharya Acharya. Drisha’s father Sumit is a sportsperson and a member of several trade organizations. Her mother Chimoo who moved to Dubai back in 1998, is a wedding planner, stylist, and interior designer.

She worked in the advertising field before and is also the founder and Managing Director of Latitude Events and Encore Design Studio, Dubai-based companies. Chimoo’s mother Rinki Bhattacharya is the daughter of director Bimal Roy.

She is married to Hindi film director Basu Bhattacharya, famously known for movies such as Teesri Kasam and Avishkaar.

Drisha also has a brother Rohan Acharya, who works as Partnerships and Ancillary Services Executive at Blueground, a company in Dubai.

Karan Deol, a Hindi film actor, and Drisha have been childhood friends. For the last 6 years, Drisha and Karan have been dating each other.

Though the couple have kept their relationship private, in May 2023, the news surfaced on media that they have got engaged. Also, a paparazzo posted a photo on Instagram where Drisha and Karan were spotted together in Mumbai. 

On 18th June 2023, Drisha and Karan got married at Taj Lands End in Mumbai. It was an intimate wedding attended only by their family members and close friends. 

Karan is the son of famous Bollywood actors Suny Deol and Pooja Deol. He is also the grandson of Dharmendra, yesteryear’s Hindi film actor. On the professional front, Karan made his debut in Bollywood by assisting director Sangeeth Shivan in the movie ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’ released in 2013.

Later in 2019, Karan turned actor by appearing in the lead role in ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Pass’, a film written and directed by his father Sunny Deol. After working in that role for 2 years, in 2014 August, Drisha was promoted to the designation of Regional Manager in the organization. Her next promotion was as an Account Manager and she worked in various domains of travel such as operations and account management.

In 2019 September, Drisha moved to the role of ‘National Program Manager’ with BCD Travel and has been continuing in that designation since then. In her career spanning 11 years, Drisha has diverse experience handling various areas of travel management including travel program assessment and Corporate Social Responsibility.

• Post the haldi ceremony of Drisha and Karan, Karan was spotted by the paparazzi in a car. The actor was flaunting a mehendi design on his palm with the words ‘Drisha’.  

• Media reported that after the wedding of Drisha and Karan, the couple will not be moving out of the family house of Deols. Apparently, Drisha’s father-in-law Sunny Deol was in tears every time the topic of their post-marriage residential plans came up. Reportedly, Karan reassured his dad that they had no plans of staying separately.

• While commenting on the alliance between Drisha and Karan, Karan’s grandfather actor Dharmendra said that he told them to go ahead if Karan likes Drisha. Post that Dharmendra once met Drisha and the meeting happened at his home. According to Dharmendra, Drisha is a very sensible and pretty girl and he also added that she belongs to an illustrious family.

• Drisha’s husband Karan once revealed in an interview that he was bullied at school. According to him, when he was studying in 1st grade, some of the senior students surrounded him. They lifted him up in front of everyone and smacked him down. Karan was also asked by those students whether he is Sunny Deol’s son and they remarked that he cannot even fight back. While recollecting that incident, Karan said that he was so embarrassed that day.
