Bordered by Pakistan, Punjab is an Indian state of great cultural value and tradition. Considered as the heart of the Sikh community. Despite being famous for its Tradition and cultural artifacts, Punjab is home to dozens of hill stations with several visitors a year.

These Hill stations are the prime options in the summer months to find a cool shade from the immense heat of the sun. Punjab is home to several tourists destination and the Hill stations are one of the top visited from them.

Shimla

Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla is a famous hill station that attracts visitors from around the globe. The city specializes in colonial period architecture which is seen in its temples and possesses beautiful landscapes surrounding it.

Located high at an altitude of 2205 meters Shimla is well connected to Punjab through roads and railways. Months between March to June and September to December could be a time you wouldn’t regret visiting as this time is regarded as the best among the visitors.

Between Manali and Larji, Kullu lies in the Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh. This spot is a broad open valley surrounded by hills and beautiful landscapes. It is situated aside the Beas River which is about 100 Kilometres north of Shimla. Kullu is high at an altitude of 1220.

Dharamshala

To reach here you can choose to come by Road, Rail, and Air the Airport at Gaggal is just 14 Kilometres away from Dharamshala. Located 94 Kilometres away through a narrow line, the nearest railway station is located at Pathankot.

This place is connected to almost all major cities and points via road and you can reach through a taxi or any public transport from Punjab. 

Dalhousie

High at 1,970 meters and situated in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, this city is home to a masterpiece of colonial architecture. It lies near the hills of Dhauladhar and is blessed with pretty landscapes giving the visitors a feel of vintage and Victorian.

The place has several modes of transportation like Air, Rail, and Road with the Nearest Airport being Kulu Manali Airport located 50 Kilometres away from Bhunter this flies over multiple major cities and points.

Joginder Nagar about 160 kilometres away is where the Railway station lies. The road is connected to almost all Major cities in Himachal and from there connected to other cities. For a pleasant climate visit Manali around March to June and to experience its true beauty opt for the winter months from September to December.

Kufri, a small hill station near Shimla, is famous for its skiing slopes and picturesque beauty. The town is located at an elevation of 2,510 meters and it lies on National Highway No. 22.

Kheerganga is a perfect trekking spot also for those Nature lovers. This little village is located in the Parvati Valley in Himachal Pradesh itself. Popular for its Hot water springs which are a natural and serene environment.

Chail

Chail is a small hill station in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district. It is noted for its peaceful ambiance, rich foliage, and beautiful weather all year. Chail‘s most prominent attractions include the Chail Palace, Kali Ka Tibba, and the Chail Wildlife Sanctuary.

Dehradun

Dehradun is the capital city of Uttarakhand and a renowned hill station located in the foothills of the Himalayas. It got its fame due to its scenic beauty, mild climate, and cultural legacy.

Khajjiar settles in Chamba of Himachal Pradesh. The place possesses beautiful nature and scenic surroundings sharing peace and soothing the mind of the visitors. Due to this particular reason, the place has been nicknamed The Switzerland of India.

Mussoorie 

The Second Hill station in the list is located in Dehradun, a district in Uttarakhand.  Mussoorie is blessed with scenic beauty and an infrastructure of colonial architecture. The climate here mostly is pleasant and okay for visitors from all regions.

Auli is one of the smallest Hill stations lying in Uttarakhand. these hill stations are known for their slopes ideal for skiing. The place has unique and scenic surroundings. To reach here visit the same Airport as for Mussoorie and Dehradun.

The railway station is quite far with a distance of 273 Kilometres in Haridwar and you can hire a taxi. There are no recommended times to visit Auli. But if you prefer to visit to take part in adventurous activities like skiing the winter months November and December are the best.

Lansdowne

Among the Hill stations, Lansdowne is the conventionally quiet one and still has beautiful views as good as the other hill stations. It is located in Uttarakhand in a district named Pauri Garhwal. A few pieces of architecture of colonial style are also seen here and some Popular attractions including Mary’s Church, Bhulia Lake etc.

The Jolly Grant Airport is 152 kilometers away and the Kotdwar is where the railway station is situated. and only 40 kilometers away.  The best time to visit is from April to June

Despite not being directly located in Punjab most of these destinations are located in the Nearby state of Himachal Pradesh and easily accessible from Punjab. These popular hill stations are a great choice for people seeking Adventures, Exploring Nature, Sigh seeing, and spots to spend your honeymoon.

Most of these places are to be visited in the summer months of March to May or June else the winter months starting from September and ending in December to experience the true beauty of a few among them.

The place is also friendly for trips with family and friends and must visit to have a memorable trip.
