Malayalam Film Director Joseph Manu James Died At 31 Years, Days Before His Debut Film’s Release

Mollywood came across shocking news when it got to know that a young director has died. That’s right, Joseph Manu who was barely 31 is no more and the industry is still coming to the terms with this news. According to recent reports, Joseph Manu was undergoing treatment for hepatitis when he couldn’t survive and finally died on 24th February.
What’s the sadder part is that his heart-creaking incident happened a few days before his debut movie was going to release. Nancy Rani was the first project of this director and he couldn’t see the response of the audience the same.
The film was in its post-production stage and the people who would be appearing in the movie are Arjun Ashokan, Sunny Wayne, Aju Varghese, and Ahaana Krishna.
Many people from the Malayalam industry came forward to pay respect to the film director. Out of them was Aju Varghese who was a part of the project Nancy Rani and worked closely with Joseph Manu. When Aju heard about the untimely demise of the director, he posted a picture of Joseph on Instagram and wrote that he went too soon. Aju also sent prayers.
Ahaana Krishna worked in the first movie by Joseph Manu and also reacted to the news. She posted an Instagram story from her official account and wrote that what happened to Manu shouldn’t have happened. She also wrote, “rest in peace”.
Nancy Rani was Joseph Manu’s first directorial venture but he was an active part of the Malayalam industry. Joseph started working as a child actor and debuted in the movie “I am Curious” in 2004. It was directed by Sabu James. Apart from that, the late director has also worked as an assistant for several Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam movies. He has always been an active part of the industry.
The funeral of Joseph Manu happened last Sunday and several people from the industry attended it.
Joseph Manu was admitted to Kerala’s private hospital (Rajagiri) in Aluva. After the director was diagnosed with pneumonia, he was admitted to the hospital for observation. According to the doctors who treated him, Joseph died due to hepatitis and his untimely death shook many people, including Indrans, Lena, and Sreenivasan Lal. Joseph was put to peace at the Major Archiepiscopal church that is located in Kuravilangad.
We hope that Joseph Manu’s dream project Nancy Rani bags the kind of acclamation he was hoping for. The movie is about a girl Nancy Rani who has big dreams and it involves becoming a movie star. As she heads on to follow her dreams and gets the opportunity, she faces a huge tragedy in her life.
But this is not the first time the Indian cinema has observed an untimely death. Many stars have recently left the world and people in shatters. This makes us realize that life is really unpredictable and we don’t know what might happen in the future.
