The approximate distance from Shillong to Mawlynnong is 78 km which takes around 2 hours and 25 minutes by road. Cab services are also available on the route. The majority of the roads leading to Mawlynnong are in reasonably good condition. 

Reaching Mawlynnong by Rail: The closest railway station to Maawlynnong is Guwahati, located 172 km from the village. Taxi and bus services are available from the railway station.

The drive from Guwahati covers a distance of about 180 kilometers and takes 5 to 6 hours. Buses frequently stop along the route, so be prepared for a little longer journey time. 

Reaching Mawlynnong by Air: Shillong Airport is the nearest airport to the village, which is well-connected to major cities in India.

  • June to September is the monsoon season, accompanied by heavy rain and thunderstorms. This is the perfect time for monsoon lovers.
