In the Rohtas district of Bihar, Sasaram is a small town, 148 km from Patna. Traditionally, it is supposed to be named after, the wise Parashurama and the legendary Kind Sahatrabahu. Sasaram was also the birthplace of Sher Shah Suri, who governed Delhi from 1540 to 1545 AD. It is better known for the mausoleums constructed throughout his regime.

The Grand Trunk Road, the most prominent feature of Sher Shah Suri’s accomplishments, goes through Sasaram. The place is particularly sought after the attractively sculpted tombs of Sher Shah Suri, his beloved father and the architect who designed the monuments. Around the Bihar city of Sasaram, there is a waterfall named ManjharKund, and it is an unbelievable waterfall that generates power. Waterfalls ManjharKund and DhuanKund are situated on Kaimur Hill, 10 kilometers from Sasaram. This is one of the best places to visit in Sasaram.

Sher Shah Suri Tomb
