Raju Punjabi was an Indian singer who is famous for his songs in the Haryanvi language. The singer rose to fame with hit songs such as Aacha Lage Se, Tu Cheez Lajawab, Desi Desi, Last Peg, and Bhang Mere Yaara Ne.

Raju has a massive fan following on social media platforms with a whopping 1 million followers on Facebook and 2,37,000 followers on Instagram. On 22nd August 2023, the singer breathed his last at a hospital in Haryana following health-related ailments.

Raju Punjabi Cause Of Death

Around 10 days before his death, Raju was admitted to a hospital in Hisar, Haryana. He was diagnosed with jaundice and was undergoing treatment. As per reports, Raju’s health condition had become worse and was put on ventilator support.

However, later the singer’s health condition improved and he was discharged from the hospital. Unfortunately, Raju’s condition again deteriorated and he was admitted to the hospital for the second time. Finally, the singer passed away in the wee hours of the morning on 22nd August 2023. At the time of death, Raju was 40 years old.

Since his childhood days, Raju aspired to become a singer in the future. Thus, he started learning music during his school days. At home, Raju’s mother was very much interested in singing and she supported her son wholeheartedly. The other family members, including his father and uncle, also extended support and advised little Raju to follow his dreams.

In 2016 Raju came up with the Haryanvi Kanwar Bhajan titled “Haridwar Ka Pani”. It was followed by several songs such as Sandal, 2 Peg Tere Naam Ke, Choudher Jaat Ki, Aacha Lage Se, and Kadar Bhulgi Yara Ki.

However, Raju became a sensation among music lovers after delivering hit numbers such as Aacha Lage Se, Desi Desi, Last Peg, and Bhang Mere Yaara Ne.

In his career, Raju also sang several songs along with Sapna Chaudhary, the famous Haryanvi singer. They became a hit pair and went on to create many all-time hits such as Sweety, Gadan Jogi, Tu Cheez Lajawab, Jalebi, Mithi Boli, Ghagra, Gajban, Laad Piya Ke, Kasuti, and Panihari.

Raju’s YouTube channel also became a rage and the singer managed to garner 3.08 lakh subscribers. Many of his videos went viral with Ghungat hitting 49 lakh views and Deep Lath touching 11 lakh views.

Raju’s last single was “Aapse Milke Yaara Humko Accha Laga Tha”, released just 10 days before his death.

Raju’s main source of income was from music videos and singing songs. Reportedly, the singer’s net worth stood at $60 million in 2023.

  • Raju Punjabi’s original name was Raj Kumar. However, during his school days, one of his teachers used to call him ‘Punjabi ka Baccha’ and thus the singer’s name became Raju Punjabi.
  • Raju once revealed in an interview that his family background was not very strong. The singer went on to say that it’s generally people from poor backgrounds who achieve great feats in life.
  • Raju was of the opinion that parents should allow children to pursue a career in their area of interest. Be it singing, doctor, or any other profession, parents should give them the freedom to choose a career in a field they are passionate about.
  • Raju hails from Rajasthan and his forefathers and many of his relatives are from Punjab. However, for the last 10 to 12 years, the singer has been staying in Haryana.
