Sachin Pilgaonkar is an Indian actor, director, producer, writer, and singer who works in Marathi and Hindi films. At the age of four, Sachin debuted as a child artist with the Marathi film ‘Ha Majha Marg Ekla’.
After working as a child artist in over 60 films, Sachin later acted in lead roles in films such as Geet Gaata Chal, Balika Badhu, Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se, and Nadiya Ke Paar. A winner of two National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards Marathi, Sachin has also directed films such as Mai Baap, Navri Mile Navryala, and Gammat Jammat.

Sachin Pilgaonkar Family
Born on August 17, 1957, Sachin hails from a Saraswat Brahmin family from Pilagaon, Goa. The actor’s father Sharad Pilgaonkar was a film producer and also used to run a printing business in Mumbai.
Sachin Pilgaonkar Relationships
Sachin is married to Supriya Pilgaonkar, a film and television actress. In 1984, Sachin was scouting for an actress for his Marathi directorial film ‘Navri Mile Navryala’. During that time Supriya was acting in a small program on Mumbai’s Doordarshan channel.
Sachin’s mother used to watch that show and suggested her son rope in Supriya for his new movie. Thus, Supriya was cast in the film and after the shoot got over Sachin proposed to her. Finally, the actor couple got married on December 21, 1984. Sachin and Supriya welcomed their daughter Shriya on 25th April 1989 and she is also an actress.

Sachin did his school education in Mumbai. Later, the actor pursued his studies in an arts subject. However, there is no further information available about Sachin’s school or college.
Controversies
In 2015, Anagha Borikar, a Pune-based female duped Sachin of Rs.35 lakhs by claiming that she provides brand new cars at half the price. The actor was planning to buy a BMW GT car costing Rs.54 lakhs and Anagha promised to get that vehicle for him for a mere Rs.30 lakhs. Subsequently, the car was delivered to the actor and he paid the money. However, after a few days, Sachin realized that Angaha took the car from the BMW showroom under the pretext of going for a test drive. Thus, the actor filed a case against Anagha.
Sachin Pilgaonkar Profession
Sachin started his acting career as a child artist in the 1962 Marathi film ‘Ha Majha Marg Ekla’. During that time, he was just 4 years old and won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his debut movie. Later, Sachin went on to act as a child artist in over 60 movies.
In the later stage of his career, Sachin switched to adult roles. Eventually, he became part of several hit films such as Geet Gaata Chal, Balika Badhu, Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se, and Nadiya Ke Paar. Apart from Hindi and Marathi films, Sachin also acted in ‘Ekadantha’ in Kannada and ‘Nadiya Ke Paar’ in Bhojpuri.
In 1982, Sachin ventured into film direction with the Marathi film ‘Mai Baap’. Later, he went on to direct several movies such as Navri Mile Navryala, Gammat Jammat, Maza Pati Karodpati, and Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi.
In the ’90s, Sachin forayed into television by directing the Hindi comedy show ‘Tu Tu Main Main’ on Star Plus. The actors in the serial were his wife Supriya and Reema Lagoo. Sachin later directed other shows such as Rin 1 2 3 and Hadh Kar Di. In 2006, the actor participated in the television dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye’ along with his wife Supriya. The couple emerged as winners and won a cash prize of Rs.4 million.

- At the time of their marriage, Sachin was 27 and Supriya was 17. Interestingly, Sachin and his wife Supriya share the same birthdate.
- When Sachin was directing ‘Tu Tu Main Main’, at times he needed a girl child to play the character of a neighbor’s kid. It was Sachin’s daughter Shriya who used to play that role.
