Amit Sadh is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films and television serials. He made his debut in acting with the 2002 television show ‘Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr’, which aired on the Star Plus channel. Later, the actor rose to fame after appearing in films like Kai Po Che, Guddu Rangeela, and Sarkar 3.

Amit went on to win Filmfare OTT Awards’ Best Supporting Actor Male in a Drama Series in 2020. The actor has a massive fan following on social media platforms with 1.4 million followers on Instagram.

Family

Amit was born on 5th June 1983. The actor’s father Ram Chandra Dogra was a national-level hockey player. When Amit was 16 years old, his father passed away.

Amit was earlier in a 7-year-long relationship with actress Neeru Bajwa. However, the couple later had a breakup. Later, Amit was rumored to be dating Niharika Bhasin, a costume designer in Bollywood, and the wife of actor Ayub Khan.

Later, in 2022, news surfaced that Amit is dating Vivien Monory, a British actress. As per reports, the couple met each other when Amith had been to the UK for a trip. Apparently, they keep flying between countries for meeting each other. However, the actor couple have remained tightlipped about their relationship.

Though Amit hails from Delhi, he did his schooling in Lucknow. Later, the actor joined La Martiniere College, Lucknow, and completed his graduation. Amit was a boarding student during his college days.

Amit once revealed in an interview that he switched from television to films as he was banned by the television industry. According to the actor, people in the industry used to call each other and tell them not to give work to him. Amit also added that he was banned due to the reason that he was outspoken. Thus the actor made a decision to move to films.

In 2002, Amit entered into acting with the television serial ‘Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr’ by Neena Gupta Productions. He played the role of Aditya in the series. It was followed by the serials Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat, Awaz – Dil Se Dil Tak, Kkoi Dil Mein Hai, Miss India, Saaksshi, Guns & Roses and Kohinoor. 

In 2005, Amit joined as a contestant in the dance reality show ‘ Nach Baliye 1’. The actor was paired along with his girlfriend Neeru Bajwa and the couple got the 7th place. The following year, Amith entered the reality show ‘Bigg Boss 1’ and won 5th place. Later, the actor also appeared in the reality show ‘Fear Factor India’.

Amit made his debut in films with the 2010 movie ‘Phoonk 2’. Later, he also acted in the film ‘Maximum’. However, the turning point in Amit’s career was acting in the film ‘Kai Po Che!’. The actor played the character of Omkar “Omi” Shastri and he was cast alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and Rajkummar Rao in the film.

Amit later appeared in several films such as Guddu Rangeela, Sultan, Akira, Saat Kadam, Running Shaadi, and Sarkar 3. He also acted in web series such as Breathe, Breathe: Into the Shadows, Avrodh: The Siege Within, Jeet Ki Zid, and 7 Kadam.

‘Ghuspaith Between Borders’, an upcoming film from Amith has been selected as India’s official entry at The Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival 2023. Directed by Mihir Kalpana Lath, the film is a tribute to Danish Siddiqui, the late photojournalist.

• Between the age of 16 and 18, Amit tried committing suicide four times. However, the actor says that he is a very strong person now and everything has changed.

• There were times when the actor worked as a security guard at a Benetton showroom in Delhi’s South Extension. Amith says that he was the most handsome security guard there and he was getting a measly monthly salary of Rs.900 per month.

• After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, his co-star in the film ‘Kai Po Che!’, Amit wanted to quit Bollywood. However, it was Union Minister Smriti Irani who helped him come out of that bad phase. The actor says that she is like a sister to him.
