Selfie, Starring Akshay Kumar And Emraan Hashmi Releases Today

Akshay Kumar is a Bollywood superstar who never takes a break. The guy who merely started acting due to his combat skills and raw looks is now one of the most active actors in the industry. Unlike other stars who believe in bringing one movie in 2-3 years to make an impact, Akshay Kumar releases at least 4 to 5 movies in a year.

Keeping that momentum going, he is again back on the silver screen! That’s right, the much-awaited drama movie “Selfie” by Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi is going to release in the theatres and fans are excited to watch it.

The official trailer for the movie was released on 22nd January and it looked so promising. The story is about a superstar “Akshay Kumar” and his fan “Emraan Hashmi”. All the fan wants to do is get a selfiee clicked with the star and he uses a mischievous way to do that.

But that gives him a big reality check about the life of actors and what they actually think about common people. The movie is about the fight of mentality between the two. Selfie also has Diana Penty and Nushrat Bharucha as leads. It also has Tisca Chopra and Adah Sharma playing supporting roles.

Selfiee is a Bollywood remake of the popular Malayalam movie “Driving License” which was released back in 2019. The shooting of the movie began last year in March and has finally hit the theatres today. It is directed by Raj Mehta and three songs from the movie have already become popular among the masses.

These include “Kudiye Ni Teri”, “Mai Khiladi Tu Anari”, and “Kude Chamkila”. For Selfiee, amazing singers like Tanishk Bagchi, Anu Malik, The PropheC, and Honey Singh have lent their voices. Dharma Productions is backing the movie and the shoot was completed in Mumbai.

As far as promotions of the movie go, Akshay Kumar shared an Instagram reel where he was dancing to the epic song “Mai Khiladi Tu Anari” and he was accompanied by Salman Khan for the same. This went viral and people from across the country were making their versions of the music.

Along with that, Akshay Kumar broke the record of clicking approximately 184 selfies in 3 minutes while promoting his upcoming film. This made an entry into the Guinness World Record!

It already seems like a promising movie and since the movie has been released today, the verdict on the same is yet to be released.

Apart from working in Selfiee, Akshay Kumar is also shooting for Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. If sources are to be believed, he is collaborating once again with Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty to work on their epic movie series “Hera Pheri”.

Before Selfiee, Akshay’s last few films included Ram Setu, Cuttputlli, Samrat Prithviraj, and Raksha Bandhan. All these movies didn’t quite get the response the superstar was hoping for.

Emraan Hashmi is also going to make an appearance in Tiger 3 along with his latest release!
