Kangana Ranaut Labels Karan Johar-Akshay Kumar’s Project Selfiee A Big Flop

Kangana Ranaut, who always shares her view about the releasing projects, comments that the new release ‘Selfiee’ is a big flop. She also took advantage to criticize the co-producer of the film, Karan Johar.

Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi are the stars of this film which is directed by Raj Mehta. Her comment about the film on Instagram is like, the movie ‘Selfiee’ struggled to make 10 lakhs on the first day of its release. She also says that there exists not even one person to talk about this utter failure, who always finds time to harass her. 

Kangan also conveys her objection against addressing Akshay Kumar as the male version of her. She points out Selfiee as the 6th flop of Akshay in recent years. The actress says that when she searched for the news of Selfiee on social media, she found news about her as if she is behind the flop of the film. She marks this as a clear drama of manipulation that can control even the news and media.

The conflict between Karan and Kangana began back when she appeared in Karan’s show ‘Koffee with Karan’. She took advantage of that show to call Karan ‘the flag-bearer of nepotism’ openly. After that incident, Karan avoided communicating with her or even mentioning her name. On the other hand, Kangana conducted a repeated dig on him and those who have close collaborations with him.

Selfie is Akshay Kumar’s fourth dump in the year 2022 which earned just 3 crores after spending a budget of around 150 crores. It is marked as the worst movie at the box office by Akshay in the decade. Selfie is the second project of the Akshay – Raj Mehta combo.

The first one was ‘Good Newwz’ in which he starred along with Kareen Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani, and Dilijit Dosanjh. But unlike this one, ‘Good Newws’ was a box office hit that received lots of positive responses from the audience. 

But in the previous year, Kanagana also had a disastrous flop – ‘Dhaakad’. The film earned only 2.5 crores and was made on the budget of 85 crores. The movie was a horror-comedy that failed to pull out the attention and praise of the crowd as expected. Kangana had to face a lot of annoying questions from the media due to the huge flop of Dhaakad.

However, the work of Emraan Hashmi in Selfiee is recognized and noted by the viewers. Emraan is back on the big screen after a long gap and people did not fail to welcome the actor with applause. Selfie is the remake of the Malayalam film ‘Driving License’. There is a long link of co-producers behind this film along with Karan Johar like Magic Frames, Prithviraj Productions, Cape of Good Films, and Star Studios. 

Anyway, Akshay Kumar is busy with his new ongoing projects Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Hera Pheri 3. He is also indulging in his franchises as business growth is unpredictable and based on fortune.
