After Leonardo DiCaprio Praises Assam, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Invites Him To Kaziranga

Leonardo DiCaprio, our Titanic hero has always received love and praise from India. People are obsessed with the role of Jack Dawson in Titanic and Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of the Wall Street. But now it seems like Leonardo is impressed with the Indians as well!
The Hollywood hunk and superstar is also an environmentalist and loves when people take care of nature. Recently, Leonardo DiCaprio praised Assam for its practice of preventing the poaching of one-horned rhinoceros. This practice takes place in the Kaziranga National Park which is now termed a World Heritage Site UNESCO.
As the actor went on to appreciate the state, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma went on to invite him to Kaziranga park.
As tweeted by Himanta, he tagged the Academy Award Winner, it is an integral part of Assam’s cultural identity to preserve wildlife. The team is working rigorously to preserve and protect the rich cultural heritage. He thanked the actor and extended a warm invitation to him.
After that, the Assam police who are known to post powerful messages on Twitter against all the social negativities also participated. Its official account couples with the state’s forest department and works continuously to protect the rare animal. Assam police also posted a tweet for the Titanic actor.
The tweet of Assam police also wrote that the wolf of wall street praised their conservation efforts. He praised the amazing efforts taken up by Assam under the leadership of Himant Biswa, our Chief Minister.
Leonardo DiCaprio took to his Instagram account and posted a picture of the one-horned rhino. He captioned the image so beautifully. The post said that in 2021, the Assam government has begun its mission to stop the poaching of this animal in the Kaziranga National park.
From 2000 to 2021, around 190 animals were killed but by 2022, the goal of the Assam government was met and there were 0 rhinos poached for the first time. These are the stats since 1977 and it is a great achievement!
Adding to the caption, the evergreen actor also said that the Kaziranga National Park is today home to 2,200 rhinos and which counts for approximately two-thirds of the population of the world. The achievement of India is combined with some more positive news.
According to the report of WWF, the world population of one-horned rhinos jumped from 200 to 3,700 in the 20th century.
But the efforts of Assam haven’t only been noticed by Leonardo DiCaprio, even Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi also complimented the state government for providing a report with 0 poached rhinos in 2022.
Praising the practices, even Himant Biswa also said that the news is great and people have been proactive to protect the rhinos.
In the last 42 years, the population of this endangered animal has crossed the mark of 4,000 and it is a wonderful sight to behold. The country is continuously moving forward.
