Tattapani Hot Water Spring 

Tourists visiting the city of Ambikapur make it a point to explore the location of Tattapani Hot Water Spring since it is one of the landmark tourist attractions you can find in the territory of the city. ‘Tattapani’ is a local word which when translated to English, gets the meaning, ‘hot water’. This particular spring can be found in the river of Sutlej and has got a lot of spiritual associations with it.

People believe in the medicinal properties of this sulfur spring on account of these spiritual aspects. Regardless of being devotees or not, tourists are seen dipping themselves in the water of the spring so as to get rid of skin diseases and other ailments.

Rakasganda Falls

This is also another tourist destination found in the city of Ambikapur but with more natural inclinations than spiritual ones. The waterfall of Rakasganda can be located in the river of Rihand in the district of Surajpur. From the town center of Ambikapur, you need to travel a distance of around 150km in order to reach the destination of this particular waterfall. The dense forest can be spotted surrounding the waterfall.

A lot of transport buses conduct services from the city center of Ambikapur to Raksganda Falls, making your visit much more accessible and convenient.

Shivpur Shiv Temple

This is a pilgrimage spot in the city of Ambikapur for the Hindu devotees visiting the location. From the town center of Ambikapur, there is a distance of around 45 km in order to reach the exact destination of Shivpur Shiv Temple. The main deity of worship in the temple is none other than the Hindu God, Lord Shiva.

Hence festivals and ceremonies related to Shiva are celebrated with much grandeur and power here. If you would like to feel and indulge in those festive vibes, try to visit the temple during the eves of Shivratri and Vasant Panchami. The Shivling worshipped in the temple is also quite distinctive and impressive especially if you are a Shiva devotee.

Jogimara Caves

For that history and nature lover visiting the city of Ambikapur, the destination of Jogimara caves would be a great attraction. These caves are also known by the name, Jojimara Cave. From the center of the city of Ambikapur, you need to travel to the interiors, a village called Puta in order to reach the destination of the caves. From the village, you can go to the Ramgarh Hills and explore the caves.

These caves are believed to be quite ancient and it is believed to have existed since the 3rd Century BC. These caves are not only a naturally pleasing sight or a historically prominent thing but also something having due religious significance. Magadhi language inscriptions can be seen in plenty of caves.

Mahamaya Temple

Another destination for Hindu pilgrimages is found in the city of Ambikapur in Chattisgarh. The main deity that has been worshipped in the temple is the Hindu Goddess, Durga. Even if you can visit the temple on your Ambikapur vacation, it is not exactly located in the same city but quite near to it. It is located in the district of Bilaspur and in the city of Ratanpur.

Among the 52 Shakthi Peethas found in the Indian subcontinent, one can be found in the location of this particular Mahamaya Temple in Chattisgarh. Even if you are not interested to be part of a pilgrimage, you can consider visiting the temple since the architecture of the temple is quite impressive especially if you have an aesthetic mind.

Ramgarh and Sita-Bengra 

Another landmark of history you can find in the territory of Ambikapur is Chattisgarh. Just like the Jogimara Caves, the Sita Bengra caves are also located in the Ramgarh Hills belonging to the village of Puta. The location of caves is on the outskirts of the city of Ambikapur. Some of the locals refer to this particular cave as ‘Natyasala’.

There would be a lot of evidence and artifacts showing light upon the Indian Theatre and its early days in the interiors of the cave. Hence the aesthetic qualities of the caves are quite impressive and appreciable. Jogimara caves can also be found nearby the caves. The protection and preservation of the caves are looked after by the Archaeological Survey of India

This is a mini zoological garden set up in the city of Ambikapur. It is also known by the name, Sanjay Park. In the entire territory of the city of Ambikapur, this is the only park destination you would be able to find out.

You can carry your kids along with you while hitting this location since there is a lot to excite them in the park. Groups of family and friends can also make the most out of their vacation by visiting Sanjay Van Vatika. Go and indulge in some peaceful time with your loved ones.
