Anushka Sharma Will Make Her Debut At Cannes, Where She And Kate Winslet Will Honor Women In Movies

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is all set to make her debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2023, slated to be held from May 16th to May 27th. At the event, Anushka will honor women in cinema along with Hollywood actress Kate Winslet.
The Cannes Film Festival is a highly prestigious event attended by actors, filmmakers, and movie enthusiasts from all over the globe. Last year’s Cannes film festival was attended by Bollywood’s leading actors such as Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Pooja Hegde.
The news of Anushka attending the Cannes film festival was disclosed by Emmanuel Lenain, the French Ambassador to India. On May 5th, Emmanuel tweeted that it was a pleasure meeting Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. As per his tweet, he wished Virat and the Indian team all the best for the forthcoming tournaments and discussed Anushka’s trip to the Cannes film festival.
The French Ambassador has also posted a photo where he is seen posing along with Virat, the Indian international cricketer, and his wife Anushka. In the picture, Emmanuel is seen wearing a light brown suit whereas Virat is clad in a brown polo shirt and black pants. On the other hand, a gorgeous Anushka was flaunting a chic sky-blue shirt and black pants.
On the work front, Anushka Sharma will be making a strong comeback with the Netflix film ‘Chakda Xpress’. The actress was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero where she was cast alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. In Chakda Xpress, Anushka will be portraying the role of cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
A movie directed by Prosit Roy, Chakda Xpress’s other stars includes Sammy Jonas Heaney, Atul Sharma, and Manoj Anand.
It was during an ad shot in 2013 that Virat and Anushka met for the first time. Later, the couple fell in love with each other and tied the knot on December 11, 2017. Four years later, on January 11, 2021, the actress gave birth to a baby girl, Vamika.
Anushka recently revealed that she hardly found any time to spend with her daughter while she was shooting for the movie Chakda Xpress. According to the actress, the entire last year went into the shooting of the movie.
Anushka Sharma went on to say that she is fine doing movies in the future, but only if she feels that it is worth taking her time out and also if it makes sense. The actress made it clear that she doesn’t want to do movies just to stay in the industry and if she is acting in a movie, it should be a film like Chakda Xpress.
On May 1st, Anushka celebrated her 35th birthday and Virat wished her a happy birthday on social media platforms including Instagram and Twitter. The cricketer wrote, “Love you through thick, thin and all your cute madness ♾. Happy birthday my everything” and it was followed by emojis of heart.
