Meditation Retreat: Aamir Khan In Kathmandu

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has arrived at Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal to undergo a meditation course. On Sunday morning, Aamir reached the place to attend the 11-day Vipassana meditation course.
As per sources, the meditation center chosen by the actor is the Nepal Vipassana Centre located in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu. Apparently, it is one of the renowned meditation centers situated on the outskirts of the city.
The news of the actor’s visit was confirmed to ANI by Rup Jyoti, an official from the Vipassana Centre. According to her, Aamir has come to attend the 11-day-long Vipassana meditation course. From the airport, the actor came directly to Budhanilkantha and he has already enrolled for the session.
Aaamir’s last visit to Kathmandu happened long back in 2014. Back then, he came to attend an event of UNICEF.
The actor was last seen in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, a movie directed by Advait Chandan. An official Hindi adaptation of Forrest Gump, the Hollywood movie starring Tom Hanks, Laal Singh Chaddha failed to create an impact at the box office.
Later, while speaking at a public appearance, Aamir announced his decision to take a break from movies. The actor said that he has been working for the last 35 years and he has focussed single-mindedly on his work since then. He went on to say that it’s not fair to people who are close to him and he feels like taking a break and spending some time with them.
Aamir wanted to experience life in a different way and said he was looking forward to the next one or one and a half years when he is not working as an actor.
Kiran Rao, Aamir’s former wife is coming up with her directorial venture ‘Lapata Ladki’, after a long gap. The movie is made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions. In an interview, Aamir was asked about whether he is acting in Lapata Ladki.
However, the actor replied that though he had given a screen test for the role, Kiran rejected him. He also added that both of them felt that he was not the right fit for the role.
Aamir was first married to Reena Dutta and the couple have two children, a son named Junaid and a daughter, Ira. Later, the actor had a divorce and Reena took custody of both the children.
On 28 December 2005, Aamir got married for the second time to Kiran Rao, an assistant director. They also have a son, Azad Rao Khan who was born out of a surrogate mother. In July 2021, the actor parted ways with Kiran.
Junaid, Aamir’s son studied theatre at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has been part of plays for a year. Aamir once said in an interview that Junaid doesn’t want his father to launch him and that he is building his own career. On the other hand, Aamir’s daughter Ira got engaged to her long-time partner, Nupur Shikhare last November.
