Indian Army To Encourage Adventure Tourism In Border Areas

The Indian army is all set to encourage and push adventure tourism in the border areas, and with that, the army had organised a trans-theatre adventure activity program too. It was along with the LOC of the line of control where we saw many activities. These activities included mountain expenditures, white river rafting, trekking, mountain biking, and many more among others. Local and other civilian enthusiasts took part in the program and it was a huge success!

If you have visited the Northeast, you’ll know the level of enthusiasm the people have got there! With vast potential and enthusiasm for adventure tourism and more, these people love trekking and other mountain-related sports. The untapped potential not only makes people participate in the event but also encourages the local economy.

It also boosts local employment! How? More and more people will come to participate to boost tourism associated with economic activities and help the poor. The main aim of the Army was to encourage the same and they have already started their plan!

The Army stated in the press release about the same and added that many such initiatives have been taken up. These are some protocols taken by different state governments. It is a mixed effort that encompasses a regard, a concern, and an integration done in a synergized way to promote the local economy. The Indian Army is running such adventure activities from all border regions, starting from Sikkim to Arunachal Pradesh (easternmost tip).

The latest reports were released to tell that the trans theatre adventure activities were held and organised with the Line of Actual Control. Here many other activities were held like mountain expenditures, white river rafting, trekking, mountain biking, etc. Civilian enthusiasts along with the locals participated in the event as well. There was a further statement about the press release that stated a highlight of this initiative. According to the initiative, Civil-Military cooperation is all in to promote adventure tourism to help the local economy. These will run across Sikkim to Arunachal Pradesh which is one of the most challenging places and not that known to date! Intrigued? We know we are!

Apart from this the army also started a three-month-long series of expeditions. These long series are a part of the various other ones and are completely done to attract visitors and tourists. At the end of the day, it is done to improve the economic conditions and welfare of the nearby area.

The release also stated that many of these areas are inaccessible. This inaccessibility is due to the routes with the LAC and has never been explored by people. But the army is all ready to work for it- they are working across the tri-junction of India- Nepal, and Tibet. It is going to be the third time in history when the same summit of Mt Jonsong will be held.

There has been a buzz around and many people are in to see the impact of this initiative. Are you excited?
