By Air: Mangalore International Airport, 150 kilometers from Kavaledurga Fort, is the closest airport. You can take a bus or a taxi via the airport to Thirthahalli and then continue to Kavaledurga Fort.

By Train: Shimoga Railway Station, standing around 60 kilometers from Kavaledurga Fort, is the closest significant railhead. Shimoga is linked by frequent trains to numerous Kannada cities. You can take a taxi or a bus to Thirthahalli coming from the railway station and then go on to the fort from there.

By Road: Kavaledurga Fort has excellent highway access. The closest town is Thirthahalli, which is easily accessible close to major Karnataka cities. You can take public transportation or a local taxi from Thirthahalli to go to the fort.
