This beautiful temple is also well known as Padmanabha Temple, Big Temple, and Temple of Seven Friends. The architecture of these beautiful temples resembles that of the Konark Sun Temple and the temple of Khajuraho.

Buddhist Stupas And Caves

The Buddhist caves situated in the Kolvi village are among Jhalawar’s highest attractions. The immense figure of Buddha and the carved stupas are the most imposing structures in the caves.

Situated nearly 90 kilometers from Jhalawar, they are the great surviving examples of Indian art. Visitors can also explore the neighboring villages of Vinayaka and Hatiyagour which are also better known for their wonderful caves.

Dalhanpur

Dalhanpur is situated on the banks of River Chhapi, at a distance of nearly 54 km from Jhalawar. This antique location, which has complicatedly carved pillars, torans, and some stimulating sculptures among the dispersed temple ruins over a 2-kilometer radius, is made even more delightful by a lush green forest.

Work on conservation and overhaul is presently being done. Moreover, an irrigation dam is under construction around the region. The attractiveness of the place is improved by luxurious green dense forests and herbage.

Gagron Fort

Situated about twelve kilometers from Jhalawar is a wonderful & impregnable Gagron Fort, founded during the 7th century and completed during the 14th century. It is a wonderful fort and well worth a visit. It superintends the rivers and proposes remarkable views.

Gagron Fort is enclosed on 3 sides by the water of the Ahu and Kali Sindh Rivers and is a perfect example of a Jaldurg (Wtaer Fort). Outside the beautiful fort is the mausoleum of a Sufi saint, Mitte the Shah, where a fair is held every year during the Islamic month of Ramjan. 

Temple of Dwarkadeesh

The Dwarkadheesh Temple is another gift from JhalaZalim Singh, the man who established Jhalawar. On the banks of Gomati Sagar Lake, the beautiful temple was erected in the year 1796. The Lord Krishna idol was positioned here during the year 1806 A.D.

It is one of India’s 7^th holiest cities, Sapta Puri. DvarakaPitha, one of the 4 peeths (religious hubs) that initiated the unity of Hindu religious views in the nation, is also positioned in this temple.

Best Time To Visit Jhalwar
