Best Places To Visit In Khammam
Khammam Fort
An ancient 1000 years old famous touristic place in the Khammam district is the Khammam Fort. This beautiful fort is situated on Stambhadri hill which was built by the Kakatiyas dynasty.

The architectural design of this fort is inspired by both the Hindu and Islamic styles. Granite is used in establishing the fort. This fort has a historical background as it has been taken over by many rulers and had gone through various changes.
Fort is open 24 hours from Thursday to Saturday and from Sunday to Wednesday, it is accessible from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Perantalapalli
To experience breathtaking views, one should visit Perantalapalli in the Khammam district which is located between Rajahmundry and Kunavaram. The name ‘Perantalapalli’ signifies ‘cloud-laced hill range.’

From this place, one can see the confluence of the Godavari and Sabari rivers. This place is a perfect spot for a photoholic and nature lover person.
Lakaram Lake
One of the most beautiful tourist destinations in Khammam. To promote tourism in Khammam, a park is made next to this lake named ‘Lakaram Lake View Park.’

You can have a picnic with friends and family in the park and enjoy boating at the lake for some adventure or fun. On Sundays, there is a movie night for the visitors using a projector. Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary is located near the Kinnerasani Dam on the right bank of the Godavari river and is a part of the Dondakaranya Forest, around 102 km from Khammam district in Telangana.
This wildlife sanctuary is named after the popular river i.e., Kinnerasani. This picturesque place is spread around 635.4 square kilometers having a huge variety of species with enchanting views.
It is a must-see for nature and adventure enthusiasts. It is accessible from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and you can opt for a jungle safari to save time.
Nelakondapalli
Nelakondapalli in the Khammam district is considered a cultural, religious, or historic tourist place because of its connection with Mahabharata. The architectural design and nearby grand temples will make you fall in love with this place. You will see a lot of statues, stupas, etc. that were discovered during the 1977 excavation.

Kallur, 400 years old is a popular pilgrimage center in Khammam. This place is famous for its heritage and two temples i.e., the popular Lord Venu Gopal Swamy Temple constructed by Rani Rudrama Devi and the king of Kakatiya named Prathapa Rudra erected Lord Shiva Temple with 5 lingas in its inner sanctum.

Gundala
Gundala is located approximately 5 km away from the Bhadrachalam temple town below the Godavari river in Khammam, Telangana. The major attraction of this place worldwide is the hot water springs which are spread across 100 square yards of area.

The celestial fire provided by Naga King Adi Sheshu contributed to the formation of these hot water springs. So, try to visit this place during your trip to Khammam.
Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple
Also known as Telangana Chinna Tirupati, Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple is situated 85 km far away from the town of Khammam. This temple was constructed more than 1000 years old with spectacular views of lush greenery in the vicinity.

Numerous devotees visit the well-known “Swayambhu” and “Swayam Grammar,”, especially on Saturdays. It is believed that worshipping at this place will fulfill all your desires.
