The particular reason behind this is the huge cattle market in the city. Ongole is also a leading producer of black granites which are exported throughout the world. The city celebrates its famous Kothapatnam Beach Festival and the Chennakesava Swamy Brahmotsavam that lit up the city.

How To Reach Ongole

The city of Ongole connects other major states and cities of India through road, rail, and air. The Indian railways are one of the largest hence it is much easier through rail. Here are the ways how to reach Ongole:

By Air: About 160 Kilometres away Vijayawada is the closest airport to this location. You can hire a taxi or a vehicle of your choice and comfort to reach Ongole. Buses are also available.

By Rail: Ongole City owns its railway station that connects multiple major cities in India. Cities Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Delhi. A huge number of trains run through these cities on a daily basis to and from Ongole.

By Road: Just like the railways the roadways of Ongole also connect other cities with its National Highways. The National Highway number 16 passes through this city and meets with Chennai, Hyderabad, and Vijayawada. Private and state-run buses also run through these roads daily into and outside the city. 

Right after you reach Ongole you can explore the city and visit its popular tourist sites including beaches temples and much more.
