RRR Actor Ram Charan’s New Production “The India House” Is Announced

RRR fame Ram Charan on Sunday announced the details of “The India House”, the latest movie where he will don the role of a producer. The actor chose the occasion of the 140th anniversary of Veer Savarkar, the legendary freedom fighter to make the grand announcement.

On May 28th, Ram on his official Twitter account tweeted that the crew is proud to announce the pan-India film – The India House on the occasion of the 140th birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter Veer Savarkar Garu. (for the unknown, ‘Garu’ is a term used in Telugu to respect the elderly or prominent personalities).

The actor also mentioned that the movie will be directed by Ram Vamsi Krishna with Nikhil Siddhartha and Anupam Kher in the lead roles.

In his tweet, Ram also shared the teaser of his maiden production venture. Going by the teaser, ‘The India House’ is a pre-independence drama and its plot is based on a forgotten chapter in Indian history.

The story of the film dates back to 1905 and takes the audience to London. The film is produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts in association with V Mega Pictures. Abhishek Agarwal Arts, the film production house has come up with hit movies such as The Kashmir Files and Karthikeya.

On the other hand, V Mega Pictures is a production company newly formed by Ram Charan and his friend Vikram Reddy. 

Apart from being the director, Ram Vamsi Krishna has also written the story of The India House. The Director of Photography is Cameron Bryson, the world-renowned cinematographer, famous for Hollywood movies such as RoboCop and The Family Man.

Though the release date of The India House is still kept under wraps, the film will be released in all Indian and select foreign languages.

Ram Charan is the son of yesteryears Telugu actor Chiranjeevi. Apart from RRR, Ram has acted in several blockbuster movies such as Rangasthalam and Magadheera. The actor will be next seen in ace film director Shankar’s upcoming action movie ‘Game Changer’ where he is cast opposite Bollywood actress Kiara Advani.

Ram Vamsi Krishna, the director of “The India House” has previously written movies such as Bhairava Geetha and Johaar. In his latest interview with Cinema Express, the director said that he is a graduate of IIT Bombay and after completing his studies, he worked as a river modeler in Bangalore. According to him, he stumbled upon the story of the building called the India House seven years back.

Anupam Kher, a Padma Shri award winner is one of the lead actors in the movie. Apart from acting in Hindi movies, the actor has also been part of internationally acclaimed movies such as Bend It Like Beckham, Bride and Prejudice, and The Mistress of Spices.

Nikhil Siddhartha, who is playing one of the main characters in ‘The India House’ rose to fame with the movie ‘Happy Days’. Post that he has been part of several hit movies such as  Yuvatha, Swamy Ra Ra, and Karthikeya.
