Suhana Khan: Unknown Facts About The Upcoming Indian Actress!

Suhana Khan is a budding film actress from India and best known as the only daughter of renowned Hindi film actor and producer Shah Rukh Khan. At the age of 17, she shot to fame following the portrayal of her character Cinderella in a school play and it’s going viral.

Suhana acted in her first short film titled “The Grey Part of Blue.” in November 2019. Recently, in December 2022, she completed acting in her debut movie, ‘Archies’, a Netflix film directed by Zoya Akhtar. Suhana is a sensation on social media and has a whopping 3.2 million followers on Instagram.

Family

Suhana was born on 22 May 2000 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Her father Shah Rukh Khan is a famous actor-producer in Bollywood and is popularly known by the names “Baadshah of Bollywood” and “King Khan”. He has acted in over 80 movies. He is also a recipient of the coveted Padma Shri award instituted by the Government of India, and the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Legion of Honour by the Government of France. Suhana’s mother Gauri Khan is an Indian film producer, fashion designer, and the co-founder of ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’, a production company she floated in 2002 along with her husband.

Suhana’s elder brother Aryan Khan is an upcoming actor, voiceover artist, and social media influencer. Suhana also has a younger brother by the name Abram Khan, who was born to her father Shah Rukh Khan through a surrogate mother.

Affair

Reportedly, Suhana is dating Agastya Nanda, the grandson of renowned Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan. The rumors of the couple dating each other started brewing when both of them were spotted at a Christmas party hosted by the Kapoor family in December 2022. The photographs of the couple arriving at the party had gone viral and Suhana was seen twinning in a black dress with her rumored boyfriend.

As per sources, Agasthya introduced Suhana as his partner to all the family members. It seems his mother Shweta Bachchan loves Suhana and approves of their relationship. Interestingly, Agasthya is Suhana’s co-actor in ‘Archies’ and both of them are foraying into Bollywood with this movie.

Education

Suhana completed her schooling at Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai. She was the captain of the school football team and the team went on to win the MSSA-MI Under 14 girls’ football tournament.

After completing her schooling, Suhana joined Ardingly College, London, and completed her graduation in 2019. During her college days, she featured in a short film and won the Russel Cup for her exceptional contribution to drama.

Later Suhana joined New York University’s Tisch School of Arts.

Controversies        

• When she was 16 years old, photos of Suhana clad in a bikini leaked on the internet. Her father Shah Rukh Khan was quite disturbed about the news reports objectifying his daughter. Shah Rukh later mentioned that Suhana felt awkward about it and he reached out to that media house and requested them to take it out.

• Suhana was trolled as “ugly” for her dusky skin tone. Later, she lashed out at the trollers via an Instagram post with the hashtag #endcolourism.  

Tattoos

In 2010, Shah Rukh Khan tweeted photos of him and his children Aryan and Suhana inked with henna tattoos on their faces and hands. He got it done by roping in professional henna artist Ash Kumar and photographer Avinash Gowarikar.

Profession

When she was 16 years old, Suhana played the role of Cinderella in a school drama. The video soon went viral and Bollywood actress Shabana Azmi lauded her performance on Twitter by stating that Suhana is going to be an excellent actor and termed her acting as terrific.

In 2019, Suhana made her acting debut in a short film ‘The Grey Part of Blue’ which was released on YouTube. In the 10-minute short film directed by Theodore Gimeno, Suhana was paired with Robin Gonella.

• Her dad Shah Rukh Khan wanted Suhana to join movies only after completing her studies.

• In May 2012, Shahrukh had taken both his children Suhana and Aryan for watching a cricket match held at Wankhede stadium, in Mumbai. Later Shah Rukh got into a brawl with a security guard and a heated exchange of words took place. The actor disclosed in a television program later that following the incident Suhana scolded him and asked him to behave properly.

• Suhana appeared as the cover girl of fashion magazine Vogue India’s August 2018 issue. It created a furor on social media as netizens slammed Vogue’s decision as nepotism for choosing Suhana as she was yet to start her acting career. Following the controversy, the magazine disabled the comments sections on Suhana’s photos on Instagram.

• Suhana disclosed in an interview that her parents realized that she was serious about a career in acting after they saw her playing Miranda in a school performance of The Tempest. 

• Suhana ended the last day of 2022 in style by spending quality time with her younger brother AbRam on a beach. She had shared an Instagram story where Abram was seen running towards her for a warm hug.
